Anyone else a fan of the peanut cart? I love hearing that whistle, feeling for change and heading straight to the road. Can't mess around, that guy moves fast! ...but he'll be back... the perfect nighttime snack!

I always managed to miss him. I heard him, saw him once down by canoe while I had a plateful of food. But never got the peanuts. I'll have to go back!
True!
There are 2 sounds that instantly transport me to Negril
The peanut whistle
and the sound of the frogs
:)
Funny, the first time we heard the whistle we were like, "WTF????? That sound is so abrasive and KILLING my buzz!!" LOL, lol, lol. After we were schooled on those tasty peanuts, we went running after him everytime we heard it.
I can hear it now...
I had the exact same thought while kicking it at Canoe. I love peanuts!! Sucks I have a mild peanut allergy and cannot partake, except for one or two......... Now Pooper, she lover her peanut butter. Speaking of peanut butter, does the peanut man offer up peanut butter?
Kevin!!!
Thanks for taking me back for a moment :)
Ahhhhhhh yessss!!! Thanks Kevin lol

Hot in the hand, yummy in the belly
Nice, Kevin, now its stuck in my brain....must go back.
Speaking of Peanuts....has anybody tried a warm coco bread with peanut butter and honey banana slices. (tomato slices, cheese optional). It just doesn't get much better for a delicious breakfast or snack.
I have never bought the actual plain peanuts... i always buy peanut drop though.. they are my fave...
Thanks so much for the video/audio. When I hear it for the first time now I'll know what the hell it is and go runnin' for da peanut man!
I've heard the whistle many times this week. Haven't had a chance to catch up with em though.
Oh yeah thanks Kevin! Make sure to submit that to fav Jamaica pic thread!!!
When we were last staying at Blue Cave Castle we would hear the whistle every night, about the same time. We decided it must be coming from the laundry room...
It wasn't until a few nights later that we were at De Bar when the peanut man came walking by that we put it together. We felt silly then!
I have seen them in Milwaukee, and in the Bahamas, and St Thomas....
Peanut man is doing great. Ran into him near Rockhouse last night and bought five bags -- the usual split, Jodie got four and I get one, lol.
so whats the actual "cost" of a bag of freshies? Never really thought about it or ever asked... I always just give him what I have on me at the moment...
100 j for a nice big cookie ....
