Fine Dining in Negril
Since my wife and I haven't been back to Negril in the past 5 years (getting 3 children through college and subsequent weddings) aka broke,it is time for our return. We fully anticipate hitting many of our past favorite places to nibble, snack and eat but we are interested if anyone can recommend 1 or 2 fine dining establishments.
it appears Ivan's seems to be at or near the top of many of your lists but we would be appreciate any other suggestions you may have.
Thank-you in advance for your input and recommendations

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Rockhouse is always nice. Kuyaba has a private table up on it's own second floor overlooking the beach sometimes referred to as the "crows nest" or birds nest"
You can't go wrong at either of these two restaurants.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Kuyaba and Ivan's. We're going to try Idle Awhile this trip.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Wild Parrot is definitely becoming a great spot for a fine dining experience. I've enjoyed some of my favorite meals there, excellent food, beautiful presentation and a great atmosphere.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Kuyaba is the best on the beach and has been for years - amazing food + beautiful surroundings! On the cliffs, Rockhouse and Ivan's at Catcha are tops IMHO. I plan to enjoy meals at all 3 very soon;)

On A Friday night there with live entertainment I had the BEST grilled lobster I have EVER put in my mouth. I daresay one of the top 10 meals of my life world wide. It was not cheap, but so worth it.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Angela's Italian Restaurant at Bar B Barn is one of my favorites. Order the chicken Parm and the garden salad.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Ivans is my number one, but my business partner also said wonderful things about Wild Parrot. I have to remind you that some of the best food I have had in Negril is served up street side at Sings in downtown Negril, but it is not a fine dining atmosphere, but oh my the food is incredible.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Charela inn is nice...idle awhile has a nice casual ambiance and great food...

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
For FINE dining I'll add...Bongos at Sandy Haven, Blue Mahoe at the Spa Retreat, Le Vendome at Charela....

Re: Fine Dining in Negril

Sounds great but Where? you left out where you ate this incredible meal
Thank-you for your feedback and I agree, some of the best food I've ever eaten has been at small roadside stands and family restaurants in Negril. CheapBites, Marks Shack that was next door to T-Waters before he opened Mark's Hurricaine up the beach a bit and before he moved to Green Island, most of the roadside Jerk Tents, Old Timers that was next door to the Poinciana, Jenny's, Cosmo's are and were delicious.
Although we have a chef where we are staying we still wanted to get out a couple of nights for some fine dining. looks like Ivan's, Rockhouse and Wild Parrot &/or the Spa Resort are all worth at a go. Thank-you

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
I would add Ciao Jamaica to the list. The meal we had there was first rate!

Re: Fine Dining in Negril

We arrive this Saturday for 11 days.

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
For good but cheaper eats you can't do better than Canoe. Fine dining quality at greasy spoon prices!

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Yes, wild parrot where wild thing is moored. Technically...buddy's beach bar and cafe. On my last night there...Saturday past, I had coconut shrimp with a wonderful coconut cream over a bed of rice, it was wonderful, 13 dollars us, well worth it. Dessert was crepes with Belgian chocolate...omg!!!
The menu is created daily, so very fresh, but they will make anything you request if they have the ingredients on hand. I also had their fish taco's with a pinapple mango sale for lunch that day, really good as well

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
Pineapple mango salsa, not sale...I hate spellcheck!
-
Re: Fine Dining in Negril
and how could i forget Teddy's Hideaway at Blue Cave Castle - yum
-
Re: Fine Dining in Negril
I had a great snapper meal at LTU, and sitting next to the cliff there is awesome. A good dirty banana, but Xtabi's was better.
-
Re: Fine Dining in Negril
I second Seveen's recommendation of Teddy's Hideaway. Great Chef (and dear friend), great food, great spot.
-
Re: Fine Dining in Negril
mi enjoy Negril for very unique dining experiences........whithout paying a lot...........
Ted's Hideaway and Bentley's Crab House give you gourmet meals without the premium price.........
and SeaStar Inn's Saturday Night Buffet and Bashment is a must for any traveler in Negril........
Cool Runnings, Marko

Re: Fine Dining in Negril
We spent some time hanging out with the chef at the Parrot last reach. Nice guy with some great ideas...one of those being desserts. We didn't get a chance to eat there, but it's on my list for next time. Those shrimp tacos look delish.

Dont forget Bentleys Crab House!!
