pic i shot on my way home from Ja
check this photo out - i shot it on my way home from ja - and then i had a conversation with Tarrus and Miss Ifrica - talked to them about my trips to westmoreland - they tell me that its true - orange hill really does grow the best - uh - plants.. : ) .. told them i had just spent some time in Broughton and Litttle London - they were familiar with the area and asked me all kinds of questions - more then i asked them actually.. great people - especially with a whitey like me approachin them out of the blue.. As i was leaving Tarrus and the other guys all gave me fist bumps and respect.. WOW - what a great group of people.
i didnt know the other guys names, and didnt want to disrespect them by asking - however, and especially the guy in the rasta robes, they look familiar - anyone know their names? I really wasnt sure it was Tarrus and Queen Ifrica until i heard her speak - her voice is undeniable
i will post more about the trip - but this picture seemed important to me to share - hope you all think it is as cool as i do..

Re: pic i shot on my way home from Ja
Hard to tell from the photograph, but it looks like you met the great Mutabaruka (I have about 3 of his albums and have seen him in Vancouver Canada many years ago and also in Kingston, MoBay and Negril. The Queen's son is huge - she was about 7 months pregnant when she performed at Rebel Salute early this year. Three of my favourite artists in one picture. Nuff niceness.
Re: pic i shot on my way home from Ja
yes - after google image search - i think that is definitely Mutabaruka = no doubt really.. having seen him in person i recognize him for sure..here is another pic i cropped in on.

Re: pic i shot on my way home from Ja
Wow, u have a great pic of the famous Taurus Riley, Tony Rebel, Marcia Griffith, Mutabaruka, and I can't see the frontal pic, but that look like Beenie Man. I was at Tony Rebel's Rebel salute and almost all those artist were their. Queen Ifrica was performing while pregnant, her baby is too cute, and chunky too. You had a nice photo op. I hope you have more. Was that at the airport in Kingston? They must be getting ready to perform somewhere. That is a great artist line-up right there. I wish I could be there for the show.
Re: pic i shot on my way home from Ja
I have a video of them. She is playing with the baby and then talking to tarrus.. she refers to herself as miss Ifrica and calls tarrus by name..I do have more pics. I will see if I have a better one of the one u think is Beenie man.. this was shot at MIA, they were on my plane to Chicago. They had come from Kingston.

Agreed, nice work Jason. They all look content and full of life. Pinch yourself man.....
Re: pic i shot on my way home from Ja
I've seen each artist perform at different show venues, but would've love to see them up close and personal like u did. I wish I could make that show in Chicago. Hopefully they'll be back in Jamaica by the time I get there on July 31st to perform at St. Mary Mi Come From or some concert in Jamaica. I would love to see that video though.
