Sad News :(

It is with great sadness that I bring you the news, that Lionel "Tuppy" Wright (Bartender from T-Water)
has passed away of complications from diabetes. After receiving the news about 6 years ago that he was diabetic, he lost a foot, and lost his sight. He suffered for a very long time. No one should go through what he did. Condolences to all that cared about him.

Finally, you can rest in peace my friend.

I remember him well - he was one of the nicest people that I ever met with a great smile. He used to fix me up with the best ever virgin fruit punches down at T-Water in the 1980's. Thx for posting. RIP my brother.

Lionel was a good man.Was at the T-Water forever.

lionel was my backgammoon friend on solo trips in the late 70,s he usually beat me. . i remember hanging out with him and spike for many hours. many fond memories., hope he received a decent send off

Sad news. I can picture him chopping ice in the mornings. He and Spike ran a great bar. So many great memories sitting at T-Water, the good old days of Negril! peace

It is so sad to grow older and losing long time friends. RIP my friend

I also have bad news, Lionel was our friend too and Aug 7th Carol Evens now Carol Heaven married to T- Water taxi man Benji, well Carol also passed away from diabetes complications, we got a call from her daughter Carol-ann that mom was not good, then Benji called . Carol worked with Lionel, she was the cashier and worked the gift shop later.

so many are dying from diabetes complications, a very wide spread malady on the Island.....

I knew about Carol as well. I think that her funeral was last week. She also was ill for quite some time.
The good ole days at T-Water were some of the best years of my life. Carol was lovely, and had a great sense of humor, and she was my favourite person at the gift shop. If we could only turn back time.

T-Water and its staff are what made us return and fall in love with Negril.

Miss B passed a few years ago while T-Water was still open. I saw Earl a couple of years ago walking in Sav.
I never heard about Earl passing. Do you know if he did pass?

I have not heard of Earl passing, Spike lost his bar in Sav, you all do know Paul (Pablo) of current world fam at White Sands is from T-Water at the end?

I see Paul every year @ White Sands. He's one of the good guys. I'm pretty sure that Earl is still walking around, drunk as a skunk!

We met a Paul (Pablo) several times this last reach while were hanging with Sheldon, Mrs. Angie and the family at Coconut Int'l. Lulu and Al, I wonder if he's the same guy...

Paul never hangs out anywhere. He's always working. When he's not working he hangs at home with his wife.
I would be surprised if it was him, unless he was visiting with Al & Lulu.

I guess this was a different Paul then. Nice guy though.

There will never be another place in Negril like T-Water.What great memories I have of the place.It's where I cut my Jamaican teeth ! So sad everytime I walk by the place and see it now.I guess you can never go home.

Yes, the only time Paul ventures up the beach is to stop at BBB to visit us, you sure you don't mean Lloyd, now he hangs at Coconuts when we are there, and he's an old T=Water hang about, also Jack of the boat Locomotion will have beers with us at Coconuts, Jacks' boat has been around Sea Grape.

No, not Lloyd...we know Lloyd and the Paul we hung out with is someone else. As of our visit in May/June, Jack hadn't had Locomotion at Sea Grape for a while...he was operating out of Green Island. We didn't see Jack last reach but spent time with Raymond and Noel and crew.

Thanks for the update on Earl. Captain Jack and the guys always provided great entertainment and plenty of really good volleyball games. Raymond is still a good friend of mine. I haven't seen Noel since he was a little guy. You just can't beat Paul's smile. Are Buju and Bull (grounds keepers) working anywhere presently. I believe the last time I saw them they were at Beach House Villas. I always enjoy these conversations about T-Water.

Awh, so sad..It comes at a time when I just don't have the pull to book a ticket..which if anyone knows me..its not me...
Remembering all of the T-Water years, employees, friends, crazy drunks w/pizza at the bar..now THAT would renew my urge.
So many people gone too soon..

What's wrong? You usually go every few months? Too many gone too soon for sure.
T-Water was the most fun place. Met some great people over the years. Many great memories to cherish.
