Thanksgiving in Negril
So, Turkey Day will be during the middle of our trip. Anyone have any suggestions? We love our NFL Football, so we would like to be hanging out at a good location for the games, is there a place that Americans tend to gather for football and possibly Thanksgiving as well?

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
I had Thanksgiving dinner last year at Lingah by the Sea (at NBCC) and will do the same again this year. Chef Orlando did an awesome menu that started with pumpkin soup.....I wish I remembered the rest of the menu but by time dessert came, I was stuffed. It was a wonderful meal and a great location.

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
We are thinking of doing the Thanksgiving dinner at our resort(Hedo),and then going out and dancing off all that food at the Jungle.Really sounds like an awesome way to spend Thanksgiving and party with the locals at the same time!

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
We went to Seastar last year to watch football and I believe they had a turkey dinner on the menu. After the game we went across the street to Catcha for a fantastic Thankgiving dinner overlooking the sea. CocoLaPalm on the beach had a turkey dinner with all the fixins and for football on the beach there is always Margaritaville.

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
I sure hope Sea Star does Turkey Day again this year. We're ditching out on the family and going to Negril so I don't have to cook for them.
Somebody needs to make dinner for me this year!

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
As for me, I will probably go across the street and pick up some jerk chicken at Best in the West, eat the fruit I bought from Ms. Cortis that morning, drink a couple of Red Stripes, sit on the beach and watch the glorious sunset while giving thanks for all of those blessings - Ja Mon!

Any chance you can post that email on here. Does it give a menu?

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
Hi Gail,
Are non guests still welcome to buy Thanksgiving dinner at the Treehouse, or is it strictly a free perk for guests?
If non guests are also welcome, would you kindly post the menu details here and the dinner time?
Thanks!

Bnewb... We are staying at tensing (love that place), and we tried seastar last year and loved it (we were there after thanksgiving however). That may be just the place this year however. They had the best bottle jerk sauce on the tables..

Yes! It's very good. My dad makes his own jerk seasoning and Jerk Turkey is always on our Thanksgiving and Xmas Dinner menu.

With the right sauce, and enough slow cooking, I think I could eat jerk shoe. I love jerk sauce, and have yet to find a meat it will not accent.

turkey is normally very, very expensive in Jamaica.....
so finding Jerk Turkey is going to be very limited in Jamaica.....
though I have known people to Jerk Turkey here in the states and they all said it was excellent.......

Re: Thanksgiving in Negril
I'm with Lenny. We have never had Thanksgiving at Seastar, but all their food has been good. I have to admit, Seastar does a great job with any food and Thanksgiving is probably no exception. We will be landing so jerk chicken will be the first order, followed by Red Stripe(s), and some good rum. And if we have anymore room (you never know it is Thanksgiving :o) Seastar for dessert could be on the agenda too. If nothing else they make this Purple drink that tastes like a sweetart that I love. I forget the name of the drink and that right there tells you its been too long since my last reach. Soon Come!
