no really such thing as a Spring Break in Negril these days........
been about ten years since any big numbers of Spring Breakers on the beach.....
it will be business as usual then........maybe with a few young people sprinkled in on da beach.....
nuthin to mention on the Cliffs..........

Thanks Marko, Only asked because we were there in March some years back and there were beer cans and bottles all over the beach every morning. There was even a portable Burger King on the beach. We've been to Negril many times but never saw it like that before. Thanks for your input.

You will not find a beer can in sight anymore! No problem! See you in March!
I haven't been back at Spring Break ...it was a mess... yep about 12 years ago..it was like being at the shopping mall on two weeks before Christmas - crowds and more crowds, only it was constant loud noise, pool partying and stopped around 7:30am daily ... 10- 15 college kidz on every one of the hotels balcony's yelling and chanting school chants and partying... no security or curfew quiet time even once they come up off the beach. I've heard from locals it's not like that anymore but have been afraid to come during this time. I like to have fun, stay out late, make noise on the beach but when I get back to my hotel it's chill time.

Essentially, you will not notice any difference from any other time in Negril.
Jamaica is probably out of the price range of most college kids I would think. It seems to be a little pricier than some of the other SB destinations. (not expensive by any stretch, unless you truly want a 5 star pampered experience) However, I think Jamaica as a whole is not priced an a manor to cater to college kids.
I could be very wrong, but from what I barely remember about my spring breaks, there were packages that catered to specifically get college kids to come, and for cheap to other places.
Honestly I think it is the addition of needing a passport that is the reason for the decline of Spring Breakers
Before the need for a passport there were MUCH more Spring Breakers.....I avoided that time of year like the plague
But just like Rob says, that has definitely not been the way much anymore....nothing at all like it used to be and nothing at all to worry about either
My first trip to Jamaica was actually booked through a student travel service....now they catered to Spring Break packages but of course I didn't go during that time, but I remember they had some pretty good package prices...of course that was in 1999 when Spring Break was in full gear in Negril....crazy crazy times

And of course it may be that we live in Florida but for us, in the last couple of years or trips to Negril have been our cheapest (AND BEST) vacations :)
Point well-taken. I didn't realize it was THAT quiet. I won't hesitate to bring my pre-teen child during her spring break....!!!

Back then.....it was before the Burger King at the roundabout and that was the only time I had ever seen fast food in Negril
dont forget"King Burger" upstairs at Hi-Lo...lol they had a "Womper"...lol....it was really bad...lol......the "Shakeys" upstairs was pretty good though........(late 80s-early 90's)
