yeah, most of the hotels have this on a loop, it's a conspiracy!

I can vouch for their existance....
Was standing outside my hotel room door late one night fumbling with my room key thinking "man these frogs are loud" when I felt something plop down on my shoulder. Well lets just say I screamed bloody murder and then flung it off my shoulder and onto the ground. Lo and behold, it was a tiny tree frog... chirping.
Dont-cha just love the way those froggies sing? You know you are where you belong when you hear the froggies sing and smell the fragrant night flower blossoms.
Green Tree Frog is the Georgia state amphibian. We hear them loud & clear at night...lol. Luv it!!!
What time do they usually turn off the frogs?
I think the locals call them toads, not frogs, mi right?
That made me LOL
You have to look really hard for the speakers. They're usually camouflaged to look like rocks and buried deep in the hedges. They even have the sound system connected to back up generators so that it keeps going during power outages.
I've heard, but can't confirm that "the guy" broadcasts across the entire island from an undisclosed location somewhere in Kingston (St. Andrew Parish at least). Rumor has it that it's a government job; a section of the Bureau of Tourism. Investigations are still ongoing to track him down.
Lol!
The little critters are relentless, persistent, tenacious, merciless, etc and followed us from the Grand Palladium Resort near Montego Bay to the Idle Awhile Resort at Negril. The sole cause of many sleepless nights....... and we never saw a single one.
i love to hear their sound!!! I swear I can here them a different times during the day and night here in Maryland!!!
I love them too! As soon as I hear them I am instantly in Jamaica!
Love it :)
It's like white noise or having a radio on at night to help you fall into a deep island sleep....(the rum helps too)
Tree frogs are one of my very favorite sounds in Jamaica...the sound of peacefulness for me.
I agree Jenn. I love tree frogs... they sing all night long as far as i'm concerned. :)
NegrilIrene thanks for sharing~ I love those tree frogs!
I LOVE those peepers! They're wonderful! The guy at the controls has a brother who runs the night jasmine aromatherapy!
It's the Retarded Rooster of Negril near the Seastar who makes me really laugh! That stupid chicken starts at like 2 or 3 in the morning and crows until he's hoarse around 11!
And thanks, CaptD - I didn'tknow what they looked like! They're so cute !!!! How big are they? Do I look for their little red eyes?
