~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
Clean up morning, pool day, chill afternoon with the pups.
Coffee and Out of Town Veg patties for breakfast with Wayne. Lunch Coco Bread with avocado, tomato, onion and mayo with a Coke Light on ice (Ice is my big luxury item....must have it...nah easy all the time to keep it but I find a way).
So Plum the fisherman gave me yesterday was DELICIOUS....tasted a bit like pineapple but cut up like a mango. So so good. It was yellow...I guess they are light green to start which is what I have seen made to juice.
Now the nesberry - could not get down with that one. I don't like sweet and it was SUPER sweet and odd consistency. Like cooked apples and pears....hmmmm. Didn't like it but Wayne ate it for me gladly.

Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
Oh now see, I have ALWAYS wanted to try the nesberry. Every single trip I ask about it but have never gotten one yet. Maybe December?
You didn't like it?
I heard someone once compare it to a skittle (candy) and I just want to try it!
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
did NOT like it Marley. But try it and see what you think. It tasted to me like cooked apples/pears but kind of meely/fibery and this one anyway was WAY too sweet. Nothing like skittles IMO.
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
I had a nesberry but didn't like it and the fruit lady said they were hard to sale...wonder why? LOL!
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
Well, you're definitely not selling me on it! LOL
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
I love naseberries - to me, they taste like an apricot sprinkled with brown sugar. Make sure they are ripe before you eat them (slightly soft). If not ripe, you can wrap them in newspaper and put in dark place and they will ripen in a couple of days.
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
this one was perfectly ripe. Seems you love em or not. So many people have posted elsewhere they LOVE them. Just being honest - not for me.

Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
I can't wait to fix me a coco bread with pear, tomato, onion and mayo. OMG, I am salivating like Pavlov's dogs!!! OBviously, so are Pumpkin and Bel. LOL
That combination sound soooo good. Thanks Sweetness for all of your updates. Truly making my wait so much better. I am so excited that I am already packing for a December trip. May sound totally crazy, but it is helping me maintain after almost a year from being in Negril. Didn't get to make our summer trip this year, so obviously I am more than psyched. It amazes me that after so many years of traveling to Jamaica....it is still so exciting for me. I guess that is what one calls...true love!
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
I dont like them nasbery things either, but soursop, how come I cant ever find that in Negril? Dont mind some guinup in august either.
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
I think more trees out in the country and every things has a peak season. Soursop I have acquired a taste for it was a very wierd flavor at first but the juice refreshing. Still my mouth freaks out a likkle though LOL. Love guinup....lotsaround but they seem pretty dry on the outside so must be season ending for them. Also you can find more as you know on Market Days in Sav, Lucea, etc. where they have more variety.
Re: ~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Food and Pups
Interesting take on the nesberry. Hmmmm, not sure if I wanna try now, lol. I had sweetsop yesterday at just natural. Very yummy. The pear I dug into last night...not so much. Surprised me that I didn't care for. It was a bit flavorless, but that picture of your sandwich is to die for!
