~~ Sweetness Trip Report - Dr. Bird Showin Off

My friend the Dr Bird that loves one particular branch by the pool finally cooperated today. My dream has been to get a good photo of a Dr. Bird. So life is hilarious so my first shot was the two that fell from the sky to the patio and played dead after their mid air duel I guess LOL.....then the many that have been flying around the gardens here at Catcha Gardens are so fast and just haven't had the chance to get a good one UNTIL TODAY.

So this bird starts but posing for some great shots then takes a bow, flutters for me and even let me walk right up to it for more shots with a flash and never flew off. Wayne witnessed it and said look he just turned and posed again. WOW I can finally say I got some good ones. They are amazing to watch with a long strink like tongue used to get the sweet nectar from flowers.......so pretty. Check these out.

Great pics Sweetness. Have you been to Rockland bird sanctuary? They come right up and feed on the sugar water. Best outing yet for me. Being a city girl it really excited me to see the birds up close and personal. Keep up the great pics

tried and tried to get pics of the one at catcha that fed near our veranda every day...great pics you got. looks like he really is posing, fluttering the wings and all that.

Great pics fi sure!! Looks like he is flexing himself just for you to have your photo op. Can't wait to see them again. They really do love that tree by the pool. Another ting mi like to see are butterflies. Somehow, this also gives me a peaceful, easy feeling inside. About ten years ago when staying at Xtabi, there were literally hundreds of butterflies. A local told me that, this particular time of the year that I was there....was THE time for these awesome insects to flourish. I will never forget it to this day. Truly beautiful!!

When I used to stay on the West End my favorite thing to do each morning while sipping my tea was to watch the Dr Birds in the garden. You have some wonderful picutres Sweetness.
