Bungalo hotel

Does anyone know what the old Bungalo Hotel is now called? Anyone have an e-mail address or phone number? Some friends booked rooms when it was called Hotbox Ital Resort for January but the website has seemed to disappear. Any help would be welcomed.

Has anyone stayed there, and whats your thoughts of this location?

I didnt stay there, but did a walk through tour in aug thinking of maybe staying there, not sure whats changed since then, but the pool was dark green and not agreat vibe, it was the last day the Hotbox sign was up and iyt came down the next day. Dont know whats happened there since then.

I stayed there in Jan. 2012. The bar and resteraunt were not open, probably because they don't get enough business which made the place quiet. This was not a big deal as there are so many places around. The pool was clean and you would have it to you self most of the time. The rooms were basic and clean. Security was very good. With new mangement there could be changes with resteraunt and bar but that was not a concern to me. Price was good and I would stay again

I am going to walk through the joint again and see whats happening there in a couple weeks.

I stayed at this place several times, when it was called The Bungalo, and then when it was called Sun Garden. Back in the 80's it consisted of a nice garden with a few board cabins. Each cabin had 2 rooms, with a shared bathroom. It was really a great chill place where you could sit on your bungalo veranda and gaze at the gardens.
As Negril built up, so did the Bungalo. The board cabins gave way to 2 storey concrete buildings, at a cost to the quality of the garden. Then a nice pool and restaurant / bar were added at the back of the property, that has a great view of the morass.
Over time, the restaurant and bar weren't really operating on a regular basis, and the pool wasn't always maintained to the previously high standards. In turn, it seemed that occupancy was down, as it was everywhere in Negril, especially after the events of 9/11.
I hope the new management of Pure Garden have great success with this property. It really was a hidden gem of Negril at one time, and can be again with the right care.
I would suggest that people check it out on their next reach to Negril, if things are looking good give it a try, it is a great location (across the road from Bourbon Beach), and the room rates posted on the website are quite reasonable.

I stayed there decades ago so my report wouldn't be too helpful. I liked it. Personally, I'd be concernced about the frequent name/management change. Nearby is Coral Seas Garden. That might be worth looking into.
