Beach pics from Wednesday the 7th... Sandy brought more sand!

Because of all the interest and talk about the beach conditions, we thought we should show you the conditions as of yesterday, the 7th of November.

After Sandy passed, the sea cleaned itself as it normally does and as pics have shown, brought in a bunch of seaweed. This first pic was taken last week just after Sandy moved on and shows a huge amount of seaweed piled in front of the Gatehouse, Mariposa and Boat Bar where there had been virtually no beach for the past year or so.

But as what will happen with the sea and the beach, what may seem like a disaster can be a blessing in disguise. The build up of seaweed allowed for sand to sift down through the mound and gather on the shore without being pushed back out to sea. This picture, taken yesterday near the same spot shows that there is now sand in front of this area - as well as all the seaweed removed.

And here is another picture taken yesterday right in front of the Lazy Dayz property that shows the sand has once again returned to this area as well.

And for a picture showing much more of the beach, here is a photo taken at Sun Beach showing that all the seaweed has been removed and how much sand has been brought back to our seven mile beach!

Gotta love Rob... Seems to know what those of us who do not have the privilege of everyday JA life are wondering about! (grin) And I do remember walking in front of Layz Dayz & having to walk in water back in July! So yay!!!!

Cool I can get by there without getting my shoes wet! Yes I walk the beach with shoes sometimes!

Canadians dont like Flip Flops?

Can't speak for WPG, but I love flipflops :), sadly now that the temps are below freezing, I've had to put them away:( I'll still wear them to the airport in December though. Have you ever run through the airport in flip flops? LOL

So nice to see that 'Sandy' lived up to her name in Jamaica!

Yeah, Canadian do flip flops. It's something in the air in the Windsor area that makes that lot a bit strange. Cute. But strange! I am with you, 2Nuts! Do the airport in bare legs and flip flops! It's a killer on the return, but so worth it!

"sometimes" I wear shoes, anyone that has been there when I am knows I walk a lot! And do the flip flop thing sometimes but on a full day walk they just wont due!

Sounds like you have some great days ahead of you. Enjoy! Negril in November is awesome! So extra - green, lush and tropical.

I remember walking by those pilons on Thursday, Oct. 25th the day after Sandy and the water and waves made it thigh high to get through.
