Hi Everyone. I have a question about the Seastar Inn buffet. I am an EXTREMELY picky eater and if I go to the webcast I do not want the buffet. Can you order off of the menu while the buffet is going on? Hubby would get the buffet but I would not.
Also Rob or Lisa if you check into this thread, any idea if it will be the Seastar Inn drummers or Luciano in a couple of weeks on the 9th of July??
Cinnni...I've seen people that arrived early order off the menu, but to be sure, please contact Seastar at 957-0553.
The Seastar Drummers are there every Saturday...Luciano is not planned for July 9th...but you never know. :)
Do you know who is playing Seastar on Saturday, July 2?
I really dislike buffets.....but I gotta say that Seastars ROCKS! One of the best I've ever had. The fish is sooooo yummy!
Yeah I have to agree. I am very picky, dont usually like eating chicken from bone and also extremely funny with eating fish but the buffets at Seastar is wonderful. The fish was among the best I ever had
Cinni, Tam is a pretty picky eater, esp. with fish, but she loved the buffet both nights we went. The food was hot and fresh. I am guessing that the usually cast of characters, Fernando, Steven West, Roots Vibration band and drummers will be there at the least.
Buff, you don't eat chicken on the bone? I'm not seeing how that works....boneless breasts and McNuggets? No KFC for you!
Me, I am the human garbage disposal. If its edible, I've probably eaten it. When Tam and I first started dating, I started to keep a list of things she hadn't eaten until going out with me....the list is over 4 pages long now...single spaced! Folks, life is short, it won't hurt you to try something once..things you like...try them twice! Tam now regrets not eating asparagus, sushi, mushrooms, goat, lamb, clams, calamari and RED WINE(just to name a few!) for the first 50 years of her life, but she's making up for lost time!!!!
As an aside, my brother, when young, was the worst picky eater ever, he never even had a salad until he went to college! Now, we fight over the last piece of sushi and he makes a kicking vinaigrette for his salads!

When I say I am extremely picky..I DO mean extremely. I do not eat any fish, chicken, or beef. I also don't eat most vegetables, soups etc. I lose weight in Jamaica :)
If it came down too it I would just eat before I go and only drink at Seastar.

If I may offer a suggestion, if you could state your preference as far as what you like to eat, perhaps the folks here, including myself, can point you in the right direction so you can enjoy your stay while eating what you like. For example, the Rockhouse has fantastic pasta with just olive oil and garlic, and my kids love it.
Just trying to help out.
For that matter Seastar has vegetarian food available and yes; you can order from the menu at any time.
Cinni, wow, what do you eat to stay alive? I couldn't live like that, LOL! No fish, no flesh, almost no veg.....do you eat grains and fruit?

Joe, Thanks but I was just wondering specifically bout going to Seastar during the cast and eating off the menu and not having the buffet but I've been to Jamaica several times and manage to find stuff lol. Alfred whips up a tasty grilled cheese and delicious fries!! :) LTU serves baked potatoes and a small side salad and delicious rolls. And I actually manage to even eat a little of the pumpkin soup (since I dislike soup in general, that says alot for their soup)
RockRobster~ I do eat fruits and grains and I do eat vegs as well. I usually have a big breakfast (pancakes or french toast, scrambled eggs, fruit). In Jamaica I really don't eat a lot but I eat enuff to keep me happy. On the plus side I usually lose about 5lbs while I'm in Jamaica :)
Rockrobster - yeah you got it, love chicken , but breast fillets . Until one day in Ja at a cricket match we were brought southern fried chicken on bone ...seriously even nicer than KFC . lol in Fact I hated cricket too until I went to Ja too !

Just in case you didn't know, the Seastar offers admission to the Saturday party without the buffet - I think is $5 if do that.
Also, they are VERY accommodating. If you wanted something simple not be on the menu, but made with common ingredients, I'm sure they could arrange it - like grilled cheese. And Seastar's fries are excellent.

The Seastar Buffet has mashed potato, salad and rolls - and I am sure they can make up a grilled cheese for you. Drop them an email and I am sure they will get back to with their specific details on how best they can make you happy!
We will prepare anything you like even if it is not on our menu as long as we have the ingrediants

Do you need reservations for the Seastar buffet?
Not to the best of my knowledge. And their buffet is one of the best I have ever tasted, personally.
MsMari...the only reservation required in regards to the Saturday night buffet at Seastar would be the free shuttle to pick you up. You call them in advance to get you at your hotel.
No reservation is required if you show up on your own....the buffet starts at 7pm.
I'm glad to see someone else in the no bones club...well bones, fat, grissle..blech!!! However in JA I will buy it and just pull the good part off which I can usually get a few bites without any of that "other" stuff...AND even managed to eat some stew fish a few times...now THAT took ages to take apart! I was starving before I finished. Ital stew seems to work the best...nothing crunchy or chewy..yaay!Quote:
