Hi! I am a new Boardie

Hey there boardies,
just want to introduce myself. i have been lurking on here for a couple weeks, and then it took 3 days to actually be able to post. my name is holly, i am from arlington hts il. i am staying at coco la palm 11/25-12/3. i haven't been in negril for about 9-10 years so i am hoping it will be as great as i remember. i am not as much of a partier as i used to be, so not sure i could handle a pub crawl , but i am interested in meeting some of you who will be there. if anyone is interested in renting a bike and maybe mountain biking, let me know- i would love some company. i will probably go biking on most mornings up to the cliffs, and maybe do a guided tour. i can't wait to get there! just 4 work days left....

Hi Holly! Welcome to the boards.

We are on our way to Negril on the 24th for two weeks. We will be getting married at Cocolapalm on the 28th :D

Staying at Catcha for the first week and then move to Coco on December 1st. Most of our guests are staying at Coco the week of the 24th. They are all booked up so you should have lots of people to meet.

The Pub Crawl is a great time, you don't have to be a drinker to enjoy it!

Can't say I'd be brave enough to try biking on those roads, but will be doing some running to prepare for the Reggae Marathon.

Hi and welcome Holly :). I am from Beloit WI and will be arriving in Negril Nov 27- Dec 4 staying at SeaSplash. You will love CoCo, we stayed there a few years ago. We are doing the pub crawl Friday Nov 30th. We went last year and had a blast and I didn't drink at all. It is a great way to see a lot of neat places on the cliffs and meet nice people. Consider going even if you aren't a big drinker. We have been going to Negril for over 10 years and it is the same. Places come and go a bit but it is just like coming home after a long absence.

rina, I have been reading about your upcoming wedding-how exciting!..i wish i could do a marathon,but after my acl revision 2 years ago,,, i am not supposed to run/jog anymore...so i do what i can do. Bike,swim,walk...i wish there was a gym at coco. is this your first marathon?

The crawl is great with a ting or a red stripe. Great way to introduce yourself to the west end.

I'll be running the Half Marathon not the Full ....... I've decided that only crazy people run full marathons :P. The Half is my favorite distance, hoping I'll be okay to complete it. Broke my foot a couple of months ago and haven't been able to do much running in the last while.

We are thinking of doing the Pub Crawl on the Monday instead of the Friday as that is the day before the run.

Holly..I will be staying at Coco Nov 27-Dec 1..look for the sunburned white guy and say hi..lol

Welcome Holly, we were in Negril early Oct for the first time in 15 years and we fell in love with it again! Enjoy, live it up and leave some fun there for our return trip in 2013 and be careful riding your bike up on the cliffs, the roads are narrow and the traffic fast.

I will be there as well, would be up for a bike tour, I have done this a couples times far westend. I am running the 10 km. as a first time runner as well. i will be on some pub crawls as well One love shuttle and my own!lol

Welcome to the board Holly! I'm have no doubt Negril will be as wonderful as you recall. We will be there Nov 28-Dec 8. As others have said, the pub crawl looks like a great chance to meet people and see new places. Not everyone is there to get their drink on. We are booked for Nov 30. Canoe webcast and the steel drum band on Thursdays are also worth checking out. Only 7 working days left for me!

wow! you guys are all so nice and welcoming! I came across as someone who doesnt drink or party....not the case at all,just didnt know if i could keep up. but i know,i will go at my own pace.

Holly, we are going to be up on the cliffs for the first part of our trip. We are moving down to Coco on Dec 4 - unfortunately a day to late catch you there.

the thing about the pub crawl that hasn't been mentioned is you can get on or off at anytime, if there is room to get on, of course...what i mean is if you want to do 3-4 bars and then get off and arrange your own ride home, you can....if you want to meet late in the trip, I'm sure lembert will tell u where he will be and meet up later, if not full....we will prob do the pub crawl on every trip at least once...
