Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
It's clubmobay.com
I just made the reservations. We always use e club departing, I like the idea of expedited customs on arrival. Customs/baggage has been mixed nearly every trip... Short sometimes, and a few times we were first. This trip we are arriving later than usual due to a new airline, so I am hoping the $$ is worth it.
Still beats what it used to be like back in the day when they rolled the stairs up to your plane however....

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Thats great...I was thinking 80 was a little high for just the arrival service..but I was willing to do it anyway...both ways is a bonus!

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Hello people, have none of you ever gone to Jamaica? What makes you think this service is actually going to be quick? Soon come. LOL
-
Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Some reports from people using the departure service is that it does work. According the info I've seen, you go into a VIP fast track line for immigration and customs. Some one on one of the other forums is checking it out tomorrow.

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Ah well that's good for departure I guess. Arrival, its all part of the fun.

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Wow! $80 per person. For a couple that's 160 bucks. Private transit to Negril, another $80. Plus a tip and we're talking $250 to get from the plane to your resort. Really?

Yeah, might as well stand in line at immigration and then fly Timair to Negril and get there an hour and a half sooner for the same money.

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Good point Weathermon!! The charter flight is not much more than my private charter taxi price.

I considered using the arrival/departure package for Club MoBay for my upcoming trip in Decemeber, but decided against it.
The Club departure price was/is $35 (I used the service in May and loved it) - you got to go through the fast track line, then at the Club you have snacks, sandwiches, bagged chips & cookies, fruit, and best of all the open bar!! There are also showers you can use and massage services at an extra cost. The $35 price tag is well worth it especially if you want to have a few drinks.
Soooooo to look at the arrival as a $45 cost - I am looking to see what perks am I getting for that. Escort to & through customs, baggage retrival, a drink and a cold towel. For this trip it is just not worth it. I don't expect long lines on a Tuesday afternoon at the beginning of Dec and I never rush to get to the luggage - I love that the guys are there pulling the cases off of the carousel for you - you just gotta find it and go!
I will be using the Club on departure though - that was a good deal!

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Went ahead and booked it. They're confident they can get us through everything in 15 minutes on a busy day, depending on how fast the luggage comes out. On the Saturday before Christmas, I think it's worth giving it a shot. Would start the trip off on a great foot if we can save an hour getting through the airport.

It's only $250... Big deal. Adds an extra little sense of pampering to the trip.
If I could find a service to heliocopter me to the west end (not the negril airport) I would do that as well.

Re: Club MoBAy arrival service, anyone used it?
Just returned home last night and used the Departure service. Might definitely be worth it during the high season. They do take you to the front of the line at immigration when leaving then to a special line to have your carry on scanned. they use the line that handicapped use. There were three people in wheel chaors in front of us so it did save a few minutes but not a lot. Like I said during high season you would save time but even being the monday after Thanksgiving you did not save that much time as Mobay has gotten much better at moving people. I watched the regular lines and they were moving good.
Once at Club Mobay there are 2 quiet rooms for adults only and a family room. quite a few people were using the service and I could see during high season you might not find a seat. each rooms was quite full when we were there, the seating is comfortable, food was not great just tiny sandwiches and some danishes. they do have a menu and if you want better food you can order from the regular restaurants in the airport and they will go get it and deliver it but you do pay for that.
Drinks including and alcohol is free!!
Was it worth it?? Yes if you drink a lot or have a longer wait. If you are only at the airport for just a short wait probably not worth the extra expense unless it is in peak season and lines are really long. It does not save you anytime when checking in bags or getting boarding passes as you do that before you go to the service counter for Club Mobay.

Let us know how it goes will you? I'm considering booking it, but not really sure if it's worth it in the end.
