I'm positive Boobie Cay was used for aerial shots as Gilligans Island. Good place for snorkeling too.....Ginger & Maryann were nowhere to be found.
I think Ginger would've a been beach person maybe AI. Maryann the cliffs. Am I thinking too much? Off topic?
I always liked Maryann better...now I know why ;-)
This from wikipedia:
"Papillon was filmed at various locations in Spain and Jamaica, with the cave scenes filmed beneath what is now the Xtabi hotel on the cliffs of Negril. While the penal colony scenes for Papillon were filmed in Falmouth, and the swamp scenes were shot near Ferris Cross, Steve McQueen’s famous cliff jumping scene, near the end of the movie, took place on the cliffs in Maui, at Keanae.[3] McQueen insisted on performing the cliff jumping stunt himself, and later referred to it as "one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life".[4]"
The owner of Arthur's bar on the beach was Kirk Douglas's water boy during filming of 20,000 league's. My friends and I sat and talked with him for over an hour a couple of years ago.
Water ?? Not Kirk...gotta be Overproof lol
This is the clip you want to see from 20,000 Leagues:

And while I'm at it .... the cave scene from James Bond - Live and Let Die, was filmed in the Green Grotto cave in Discover Bay. (The Cave is actually more impressive in real life in case you've never checked it out.)
