In Negril now, first day report
Arrived a few minutes early on our flight from Houston yesterday afternoon. Immigration was all backed up, we had pre-arranged for the Club MoBay arrival service and got to skip to the front, luggage already waiting for us, to the front of customs and out. Definitely saved over an hour of waiting.
After as quick a stop as possible at Mega Mart, we continued on.
Finally got to try Biggas in Green Island, great jerk. Even our youngest daughter, who eats hardly anything liked it.
Headed on to Negril where the Owner's Villa at Nirvana was waiting for us, fresh squeezed OJ and plenty of ice in the fridge.
Made a few drinks and then headed up the beach for a quick walk around sunset.
Barry's was putting out some food shortly so we headed back there and had a rum punch and some snacks.
Starting to get hungry now, we headed into Rainbow Arch, where we were initially the only people there.
Still, everything is cooked to order and it took quite a long time, but the food was great. We had grilled snapper in a spicy sauce and their excellent fried shrimp.
We were all too exhausted from our 4 am wakeup so we didn't make it out, but did hear the music going till the wee hours.
We brought our own grinder with us and made a fresh pot of JBM when we got up. Great way to start the day.
Just back from a walk down to Bourbon Beach, only got approached by the "salesman" about 10 times.
About to eat breakfast now, will check in later. Looks to be a beautiful day.

Sounds like the Club MoBay paid off!

Re: In Negril now, first day report
Funny Thing.....in a way Club MoBay has always existed - it was there for us in '84 and I'm sure it was there before that, the guys that grab your baggage would look at you and if it was ours, we would hold up a 10 us and say "quick pass to cab"....and Zoom....... we went around this wall out that door and in looking back , saying goodbye to
our "Quick Pass" man....what a country....Love It
after 9-11 it wont work leaving or entering the US :)

We are thinking about purchasing the Club MoBay Bundle because we arrive next Sunday and there are 7 planes that arrive within 25 min of each other and I have stood in that huge line-up many times .... just wondering if we will get through customs and then have to sit and wait for our luggage?

Re: In Negril now, first day report
How much is the bundle? I can't seem to find it online. I can find the departure cost - $30/adult but not the package.

Re: In Negril now, first day report
dam... I still got 99 days to go!

Luggage was there waiting for us once we got through immigration. It always amazes me how fast they are.

Thanks! I guess the arrival is a little pricier than the departure!

I assume there is an expected gratuity for the luggage finder?

I just got an email back from Club MoBay that the arrival service is $55/person. That even might be worth it because I hate that never ending line-up and what is worse most people don't have his/her papers in order  I read on TA that some ppl made it through customs quick but then had to wait for their luggage so any time saved was gone ... but I also read on TA that Club Mobay has been reading the posts and have been doing things to improve their service too.

Just wondering how you are enjoying Nirvana? We are thinking about taking our family in April. We have looked at the grounds and there is plenty of beach and a nice play area, but the all the units were occupied so we couldn't look inside but ... I assume it would be good for toddlers?

No, the Club MoBay reps got them, I figured we'd already paid them enough.

We love Nirvana, this is our third stay there. There's a toddler or two here right now, they look very happy. Most of the property is fenced in so can let them wander a little bit. It's nice having a kitchen with little kids.

Last trip they where checking your paaper wok at the end of the steps before the custom lines and made people step to the side at A long table and finish it before getting in the lines. For me it seem better last year then ever. Most people don't fill in the return info they think they can do it later. Limo Mon Soon Come
