Yeah! Engaged in Negril!!!

Yup, I said YES!! Trust me, I am SO surprised by all this, I still can't believe its real,until I look down at my sparkling ring finger! :) He did good!!! I wanted to let all my family and friends know first before I posted the news here. Well it turns out that the family all knew before it even happened because my boyfriend , wait, no, my FIANCE, haha!, had asked for my Dad's permission/blessing in advance !!

My dad gave his blessings to him, but ,with the stipulation that we wouldn't get married until i graduated from college. Btw,I'm currently a Junior in college now so we wont even be having the big wedding for at least a year and a half ,but probably more like in 2 yrs. which is fine with me. I totally agree with my dad's wishes and want to graduate first anyhow ,even if he didn't already request that , plus my mom is already freaking out with how much time she will need to plan the perfect big day haha!. Trust me, i am in no rush! I think someone here on webcast chat (Glenna maybe?) mentioned that maybe my bf would propose on this trip and i was like No Way!! Crazy! I know.

This entire trip so far has been like a dream that i don't want to ever wake from! thankfully, we are still here! It's kinda like being on a honeymoon cause we haven't done much else here besides spend all of our time together swimming, diving, eating, sunbathing, napping, dining and dancing, and romancing but it's all been so romantic, wonderful and dream like! I don't wanna wake from this! Oh we did take one trip to Mayfield Falls! Soooo incredible and fun! Loved it!

Some of you may remember me posting back in Oct. asking for suggestions to surprise my boyfriend with a romantic dinner in Negril. Since we were going to be staying at The Rockhouse, or so I thought at the time, I wanted to surprise him at a different place. After many wonderful suggestions, I ended up booking a romantic cave dinner at The Caves. I was beyond excited to be able to pull off a surprise like that for my boyfriend since he had surprised me with this amazing trip for my birthday. I wanted to make him feel extra special knowing I planned something like that without him knowing. He's the most incredible man I've ever known, besides my wonderful daddy of course. :)

Well fast forward, we arrive in Negril last week, one flight to Montego Bay, and then a quickie flight to Negril. Loved the tiny plane! The pilot was great, and showed us so much from the air! Even got to sit in the cockpit. (will post pics!)
Anyway, so we get a taxi and arrive at The Rockhouse where we are welcomed like royalty! It's just as amazing as all the pics I've ever seen on their website. Actually, its even better in person! We were shown to a villa perched on the cliff edge of the sea. The first thing I wanted to do was change into a bikini and jump into that beautiful blue green water! And , I did!!

I won't bore you all with my first reactions of the water as I'm sure it's all been described here numerous times before but it was.... ah-maz-ing!!!
Sorry, I'm not that much of a writer, so I will probably just end up letting all the pics and videos speak for me instead! Ha! I will figure out the best way to post all of them here, ( have SO many!) or maybe just link to a photo page (if that's even allowed here?), in case you all don't want to be bombarded with my vacation photos on this site!
I have the entire engagement captured on video too, tears and all,thanks to my sweet baby who never ever misses a detail, and had thankfully had it all set up ahead of time. I think I must have already watched it over and over a hundred times since! ( we got engaged on NYE!!)

Btw, We only ended up staying the first 2 nights at The Rockhouse. I thought we would be spending our entire stay there, however, my boyfriend had something else up his sleeve! Somewhere even better, and mindblowing!!!!


**So Sorry! I really don't mean to leave you all hanging, (that is, if anyone is even reading this!) but I'm still here in Negril!! and my FIANCE ( hahaha sounds so great to say that ! Love my baby!!) just woke from a nap and is starving! Plus, I'm typing all this on my phone, and my fingers are done for now! Ha!

Congratulations! I think Negril would be a great place to get engaged, hope you've had a wonderful time.

I don't know what it is about the sunsets here in Negril, but it's almost 2 weeks now, and yet I am still mesmerized by them each evening. Tomorrow is our last full day in Negril, and I am already dreading the long flight back home. Prior to this trip we spent Christmas in Connecticut visiting my family, and then left the following day from JFK, so it was a relatively short flight to Jamaica. Now, we will be flying directly back to Southern California where I attend school. Omg, I so don't wanna leave! I have really fallen in love with this place! And, now, I totally get what you all talk about when you say you have withdrawals, and have to plan a trip back ASAP! I admit that I couldn't understand feeling that way before I arrived, but now I am hooked, and I KNOW that I have to come back!! :-)

So, we missed out on another Sat. night at the Seastar. We enjoyed a delicious lobster dinner at our hotel, and drank some wonderful wine,and then decided to take a quick nap before heading over to Seastar. Needless to say we didn't wake up until hours later,way after midnight, lol. Time just kinda flows here, and I find it so hard to make any kind of plans and stick with them, but I am okay with that. I kinda just like floating along on this Negril time.

I think I left off by telling you all that I thought we were spending our entire stay at The Rockhouse hotel. Little did I know that was not the plan. ;) While we were sunning ourselves out by the pool, my bf mentioned that he had spoken to the manager earlier, because he wanted us to move to a different villa. I was a bit confused when he said that because I absolutely loved where we were, and didn't see how it could possibly get any better. He went on to say that we should probably pack up all our things now, before we went for lunch, because the manager had nicely arranged to have all our stuff moved for us. Hmmmm.. okay baby whatever you want to do, we are in Negril and everything is just Irie. :cool:

So after all our things are packed up, he tells me that he wants to take me to a really special place for lunch. We leave our things in our villa, and get into a taxi. We quickly get to our stop, and he tells me that he has arranged a surprise for me. :confused: He tells me to close my eyes, and he leads me on a walk for a while, and then finally tells me to sit down but to keep my eyes closed. I'm getting really curious by now, but I swear I didn't peek! I hear footsteps shuffling and muffled voices whispering, and then he tells me to finally open my eyes. I look around and I am sitting on a chair in under this thatched roof looking directly out at the incredible sea! I see a massage table set up next to me draped with clean, crisp white sheets and towels, and we are sitting under this open thatched roof, high high above the sea on the very edge of the cliffs.

Omg! What an Amazing view! Similar to the Rockhouse view, but also kinda different too, oh, it's just hard to explain! My bf tells me that he arranged for me to get a massage right out here with this incredible view! I am so surprised that I just start giggling like a fool. I said, this is unreal, will you just pinch me please, lol. So, then I'm introduced to this nice guy,Patrick who is the wonderful masseuse.

Omg, I cannot even explain how amazing that massage was, I was in HEAVEN! I felt so relaxed and all my recent stresses from school and finals week just melted away. Meanwhile, my bf had told me that he was going to take a walk around while I was getting my massage. When the massage was over, I thanked Patrick a million times, and I told him how this was my first time visting Negril and that I thought this place was just soooo beautiful, and I asked him what's it called? He laughed really loudly, and then said, pretty girl, how you no not where you are? This is The Caves, mon!! :eek: Omg! I just about fell off the table when he said ,The Caves! This was the same place I had planned to surprise my bf with a romantic cave dinner!! OMG! This is insane!!! Eeeek!! How did my bf end up surprising me with a massage at the very same place I planned his surprise dinner?!! CRAZY! :confused: So now I'm just freaking out a bit, and Patrick is just smiling at me and looking at me like what's up with this girl. I tried explaining things to him, but then I realized I was talking too fast and nothing was making any sense and coming out right, and since I was still in this zen space from the massage, instead I just shut up and smiled back at him, and then quickly got dressed.:-)

A few minutes later my bf returns to get me, and we say goodbye to Patrick. My bf asks me if I’m hungry and of course by now I am starving , so he suggests that we just stay here and eat. I’m still kinda in a daze from discovering where we are, as well as super relaxed from my massage. As we are walking through this beautiful lush property, I see these rustic looking, yet very quaint colorful cottages spread out all around us. I tell my bf that the cottages are so cute and I wonder how they look inside. All of a sudden, he grins at me, and grabs my hand and leads me right up to the window of one of the cottages. But, I’m looking at him like he’s crazy, what the heck is he thinking?!! :eek: We can’t just go peeking in on someone in their cottage! Then, all of a sudden he walks right up to the front door and pushes it WIDE OPEN! I about died on the spot! I am so embarrassed and quickly look around to see if anyone notices us doing this. What is he doing?!!! I immediately spot all OUR luggage sitting inside right by the door!! What?! Omg, now I feel dizzy! I stood on the porch and said,”Baby, Omg! This is freaking me out, what is going on here?!!” He just grins at me, and says,” Surprise, babygirl!” and then picks me up and carries me into the cottage. ;)
