Coming Back to Negril-Need hotel help!!!

After spending three Christmas/New Years in other countries, we are doing Negril again next year (WOO HOO!) WE ARE BAAAACKKKKKK!!!!!
Hate to say it, but Hawaii, Curacao and Mexico DO NOT hold a candle to 7 mile!!!
That being said, I am sure there have been a lot of changes since 2009. Looking for:

1. Hotel on beach (or across Norman Manley WITH BEACH ACCESS)
2. Must have kitchenette
3. NO all inclusive please

Hooping there are some new hotels - have always stayed at NBCC and just want a fresh start.

Will consider cliffs as well (hoping a cab ride to beach is still $2/pp)

Again, not saying anything people on this board do not know.....NEGRIL ROCKS.

White Sands has nice rooms with kitchenette and the price is hard to beat.

Treehouse puts up great deals on line. Highly recommend. Great part of the beach and buffet breakfast included.

Rayon....their Kitchenettes are cute and comfy

Shields has a kitchenette room.......Pool......Fridge to rent..........Safes.........Bar........All on the beach.

For a reasonable spot on the beach, we stayed at Ansall's Thatchwalk Cottages (next door to Coral Seas.) Smaller clean rooms with 4 gas burner (gas tank outside), mid size fridge. AC and local TV. Awsome security, immaculate grounds, dog watch and great owner. We like to do the "local" thing including scooter and side trips, so this worked out very well with cottage price .. this was in the summer thought so I don't know how crowded it gets in-season. The beach is great and Shield's in next door too. If you want to do some of your own cooking, then it works out well.

Rondel village has nice villas.

we liked the Treehouse...great rooms, kitchenette, nice breakfast included....clean, kind of right in the middle of 7 mile and they have a pool....

You can`t go wrong with using The Hidden Paradise,it is a Great place to hang your hat while in Negril:)

Enrick and his gang of helpers there will make you feel at home!!
