My husband and I have night snorkeled twice before on the cliffs and do not recall seeing those. It was kinda cool. But scary. Different things come out at night.
Sounds interesting. Might have to try.
Red things and things that want a local or foreign snack rule the night...
1st time in Negril I asked the question of a Rasta, as to why no lights on the beach at night and nobody in the water...

Yeah, Swimming at night is probably not the best idea, unless it's in a pool. Even here in the mid Atlantic, it's not recommended.
I am very curious to hear what local guide took anyone out for this, you won't get most any to go near that water at night. The Cliffs no less. I am not a scaredy cat I have done my share of beach close to the dirt night swims but that took some very difficult convincing to get a JA in the water with me. The cliffs in the day have had a few meat eaters come in, at night it is known they come up West regularly.Quote:

I'm a big scaredy cat when it comes to the water.. I only go in a little past my ankles, and if I am on a floatie I need to be within running distance to the shore..
I give full credit to seeing Jaws at the tender age of 8 and then going to see the ocean for the first time a week later.. *sigh*
We always talk about taking a night scuba dive one of these years. Maybe this time.
Depending on the amount of alcohol in our systems - we have been swimming at night many times. I guess drunks and idiots are protected.
I always think of the night scene from Jaws.
