Quick Trip Report Through Pictures

I traveled to Negril for the first time in December and spent the first 3 nights at the Riu Tropical Bay, the next 5 nights at Charela Inn and the last 4 nights of my stay at Seastar. I hope someday to do a complete trip report, but for now, work is insanely busy so I'm going to have to tell my story through picts. I took 100 photos, but picked some random ones to help tell the story. Cliff notes of the trip:

1) I didn't get bitten by any sand fleas the entire time.
2) There were plenty of people selling everything you can imagine on 7-mile beach. At first they were a bit of a nuisance. Now I miss them.
3) The weather was perfect. It rained for 2 hours one afternoon. Otherwise it was sunny and beautiful every day.
4) The Saturday night show and buffet at Seastar is AWESOME!
5) While I stayed at Charela Inn, I started every morning on my patio with coffee and fresh pineapple juice with ginger from the juice guy (Tony?)
6) The best meal I had, although a bit expensive, was at Ivan's. Awesome food. Fantastic view.
7) The best time I had was on the One Love Bus Crawl. I highly recommend it. You start off a bit reserved and quiet and end up rowdy best friends with the group on the bus!
8) Jamaicans have the most positive outlook of any people I've ever met. They really mean it when they say, "No problem, mon." I got to talk to quite a few of them in-depth and I learned quite a bit about the history of Jamaica and Negril.
9) A smile is always returned with a smile. If you're rude, they have every right to be, and will be, rude back. I saw this too many times.
10) The sunsets are out-of-this-world beautiful.
11) The food is fresh and extremely tasty.
12) I, a type A personality, not only lost track of time, but of dates and even days. I had no idea what day I was ever on. And it was glorious.

I WILL RETURN. That's a given. :cool:

If I end up doing a "real" trip report it'll have to be at a later date when I have more time.

I was at Seastar from Dec. 29-Jan. 2. I was in room 19...brand spankin' new! I LOVE those hammocks. My little piece of heaven.

I checked into room 19 on the 2nd. Thanks for not taking a late check out as I was early. :cool: Was there off and on before that though, hum............

That's what I appreciate about a small hotel like Seastar - although the place is booked solid - you certainly don't know it, because everyone is off doing their own thing.
Thanks for psoting the pics and the suggestion to bring "flu" medicine - it sure is a bad one - all over everywhere.

Hey 2nutz! You are going to LOVE Charela! The food is outstanding, the beach is fantastic and the staff are awesome! Maxwell is a great bartender, Paisley is their security guard (with his two lovely dogs, Eureka and Tia) and Debbie and Nicola are wonderful in the restaurant. One of the pictures I'm posting is my room (oceanfront, ground floor) at Charela. It was da bomb.
