Re: Do you remember your greatest Reggae Moment in Negril ??? , Have a Pic ?
No Pic. but my greatest moment was in the fall of 2006. I was at the Toots concert at Alfreds. Between opening acts, The Jamaican Michael Jackson Ect, I made my way to the bar and struck up a conversation with a very well dressed lady of my age and two smokin hot young women with her. I figured that she was some sort of Madam as I had been dealing with the "Hey Big Daddy"girls throughout the week. Well This lady was funny and very nice. We talked and laughed for about 45 minutes. Flirting, Laughing, and just having a great time when she excused herself because it was time for he to go on stage. Unknowingly, I had been enjoying the company of Marcia Griffiths and her back up singers. It was a great night.

One of my favorite memories is from 1994 when the entire Marley family stayed at the same resort as we did. It was Summerset Village and the Marley family stayed at the Thatch House. We watched Ziggy and his brothers play soccer in the parking lot. They were very friendly but sadly we have no pictures. We all went to MXIII for the Bob Marley birthday bash and got back to our rooms around 4 AM.
It was the first time we took our daughters and they LOVED it. Both have been back to Jamaica several times.

The General Bunny Wailer at Miyard nuff love for defying the myth and coming to West End, One Love Drive, where it is more than the sand, sun and sea it is about the people and the culture .
Respect from the entire West End Community as we work hard to bring back tourism to the ordinary people as they are the one who started it. Long Live West End the Best End

Meeting KyMani Marley
Went to a small club in Miami a couple months ago, waiting for KyMani to come on and he was standing behind me chillin' with his group. I didn't want to bother him but the girls starting taking pics with him so I said that we love him, respect, etc. but it was a great experience that I will never forget. Love the Marleys:cool:

Re: Meeting KyMani Marley
Forgot a couple other memorable reggae moments - went to Steel Pulse concert and lead singer held my hand 2x during his performance while he was singing. Oh Baby! and all the times I went to see Damian and his brothers, getting in the first row and up close to the stage and drooling over Damian and Stephen. Can't get enough of the Marleys!!!

One Xmas vacation back in the late 90's we had concerts at Central Park West (in the West end near Negril Escape) I saw on the first night Shaggy who did the whole Midnight Lover Album (Mr. Boombastic etc) and Beres Hammond and on the next night saw Luciano and Buju Banton .......Luciano was just starting out at that time.......and the one with Shaggy and Beres there were only about 50-75 people there that night....everyone was waiting for Luciano and Buju. ....Best concerts I ever saw !!!

This was March of last year.. When me and iriesistah went to this big spring break concert in negril (i believe itwas long bay beach park) with tons of great artists. I was supposed to leave the morning of the concert but i ended up extending my trip for one more day so i could attend and i did not regret it. It was an amazing, memorable night. After hanging out in the crowd for a while somehow Iriesistah and I managed to sneak into the "VIP" type area(for some reason they put the restrooms behind the gate that separated the areas) and we managed to stay back there without getting caught. My flight was at 8AM the morning after the concert, but they saved the best acts for last Sizzla and Beenie Man.. so we stayed until 5AM which was right after beenie man performed.. i got a picture with him and Irie got a picture with sizzla. One of the greatest nights ever.. Left the concert at 5... rushed to my hotel to shower and throw my remaining items into the suitcase and left for the airport.. slept the entire flight home.

Re: Do you remember your greatest Reggae Moment in Negril ??? , Have a Pic ?
I have so so many...I dont think I could pinpoint it to just one. But a few rank up there. hanging out with Dennis Brown at Kaisers Cafe EVERY wensday night through the early 90's was cool. I used to get there early before the traffic blocked the west end and go down to the swimming platform for a drink and a smoke Dennis used to come down and sit with me and watch the sunset. Our conversations were memories I will never forget as long as I live. We talked about lots of things life, religion,Ja and our love for reggae and he told me stories of rehearsing with BOB and Jimmy cliff. We truly became "friends for life". I do miss him bad bad RIP dennis I will never forget you. Also in the 90's there was a big big spring break show at samsara. I saw Jimmy Clff,Toots,Chaka Demus & Pliers,Spanner Banner. Show was so packed that college kids were hanging around outside for 100's of yards. Then there was the DE BUSS shows....Coco Tea, Freddie Mc greggor,Half Pint,Barrington Levy were all regulars. Central Park Judy Mowatt,Garnnet Slik...M
I could keep going on forever...so pinpointing it down to 1 great moment is hard for me. MAN I MISS those old venues those were the days..they are gone and just memories now but memories I will cherish in my brain for the rest of my life... I am going to dig out some pics and scan them soon come....
I MISS YOU DENNIS..RIP BREDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Do you remember your greatest Reggae Moment in Negril ??? , Have a Pic ?
Best Reggae moments in Negril were at Roots Bamboo back in the early seventies. Was lucky to see Bob Marley, Yellowman and Burning Spear there between 74 and 78. Also saw Bob at Sunsplash in MoBay as well as all the other acts there.
I sat next to Jimmy Cliff on an Air Jamaica flight from JFK to Mobay in August 1980 and later connected with him several times during US tours to the East Coast.
Also saw many memorable reggae shows at various places in Negril although can't remember the exacts other than to say they were really good. If I'm not mistaken the Old Yacht Club used to have shows as did the Villas Negril on the little bandstand by the pool.

I had the honor of meeting Jimmy Cliff and his band at a little seaside bar called Casino by the Sea on Cape Cod in about 1985ish? Provided him with a little something to hold a meditation before his set. Once in a lifetime moment!
