firefly cozy beach cottage

anyone ever stay in this cottage? any other cottages, rooms, with ocean front, beach front like this that can be recommended ...

Never stayed at firefly but there is always a good show going on there!!! And by that I mean the people watching!!

Not sure what the story is at FireFly but there always seems to be completely naked men laying around in their beach chairs. Not that there's anything wrong with that... to each his own.

I stayed there once about 10 years ago. It was fine - small but I didn't really find it too noisy. The property isn't that big.

Russ the naked people are just part of the show. I saw a guy walking there once,who had what looked like a bull ring through the end of his junk. Me and the girl friend love walking past there. Makes for interesting conversation.

I've stayed there 5 or 6 times and when not staying there, you will find me at that bar all day long getting the best service at the bar from the great Maxine.My friends stay at the cottage right behind the bar and will stay nowhere else in Negril. Other people love the Swiss Alps looking room in the middle of the property. My friends stayed in the Penthouse right on the beach, in the big pink building , (which she called It "her amazing Barbie doll House" They have a little workout , freeweight area there also and the location is the best on the beach. I've stayed in the Secrets cabins and the rooms and both are great.Firefly has a tremendous amount of Regulars there.It is very quiet there, but right in the middle of all the action. Ziggys rentals are on one side for all your watersports needs and there are literally 3 or 4 glassbottom boats right there. The very nice and always fun Sunbeach bar is on the other side and Best in the West is across the street.I don't do the clothing option, but my friends love it . You must wear bathing suits at the bar and around the rooms. You can only be sans swimwear on the beach.Audrey and David Sykes are the owners and run a tight , wonderful operation. It's my favorite place in Negril.

We love Firefly and stay in the oceanfront penthouse on the beach. The cozy cottage is very cozy (small) and shares a wall with the bar, so it may get loud. The naked people are nice and part of the charm of Firefly.

thanks for the replies...shooter, anything you can tell me about the cottage behind the bar that your friends stay in would be great...we are simple people, just need cold a/c, and safety...so how is the security?....never stayed on this end of the beach....

We stayed at Firefly many times, 3 or 4 different rooms. Great friendly place. Can't say anything negative because it's all positive at the Fly!
All day breakfast and don't forget to try the pancakes.

Stayed in the FF beach cottage for a few nights and upgraded to the penthouse for the rest of our 2 week stay. Staff is very helpful so give it a try. If you decide you want to move and there is a vacancy they help you right out. One thing is the small bathroom in the beach cottage. You can literally sit on the toilet and have one foot on the floor, one in the shower and wash your hands all at the same time. We dont get naked but it is a clothing optional beach if you so desire. We enjoyed our stay there. The bar was not too bad in off season. I cant speak for high season noise levels. Also the bed is a twin size and was also in the penthouse suite we stayed in. Not what we have at home but will bring you closer :)
As far as location on the beach and waterfront we really enjoyed. Very good for swimming.

I stayed in the first building below the big suite..positives are great location...nice bar with good breakfast and cheap beer..and 3 triple xxx channels..lol..negatives..room smelled moldy which I left the air on 24/7 and that helped out..also room was very dated..hadn't been touched in 40 years but charming place..

I stayed in one of the penthouse suites once years ago, and it was basic and somewhat outdated, but the balcony area can't be beat! It's a lot of steps to go up and down though.

I LOVE the bar there too! Great B-fast and they'll cook it anytime you want!

I checked out the beach front cottage and it would simply be way to small (quite cozy) for me! But the screened in porch right there on the beach is great!!!

but we thought the cozy cottage right on the beach looked fun for a couple of days....
