Just a weird question, is there a story or reason that the Red Dragon is referred to as Ragabones.
great question.........
have always heard the locals refer to Ragabones when they are talking about the Red Dragon........
everyone says Ragabones has the best Jerk Pork in Negril........
even the guy that sells it on the beach gets it from Ragabones......
kinda a wild guess but I'm thinking Ragabones must be the chef/cook or maybe da owner at the Red Dragon that makes that awesome Jerk Pork........
or it could just be aka for the Red Dragon......and wi all know everything has multiple names der..........
best on da island fur sur.....
Cool Runnings, Marko
The man who owns the bar, his name is Ragabones. Great guy!
If you spend a little time at Red Dragon, you will meet Ragabones. He is there quite often and his son is bartending many days.
Marko,
If ya ever see Ragabones wearing his Patriots cap around Christmas time.....
We'll you know who brought it down for him! :)
Enjoy,
VVHT
I never knew that the pork guy on the beach gets it from same cook as red dragon. I tried the jerk pork guy on the beach for the first time last month. It was good but not spicy enough for me.
I was talking with the bartender, Gardo, and he lives in the house next door to the bar. He says his brother serves the pork and takes care of that area. His dad is Ragabones.
Anyone know what time they start serving pork at Red Dragon?
Mr. T...the pork is out around noon everyday except Sundays.
that's what I thought too--I had read about him raising his own--when I bought from him I figured it was his. He hadn't been on the beach for the week I was there and then appeared the last day so I had to hit him up. He said something about being stuck up inna country where he lives. He did say spicy or mild and had it divided in his box. I told him spicy but I guess I ended up with mild.
jerk pork on the beach, yum! Bought a serving even though it was late morning and had it later for lunch with leftovers for my flight home the next day

woops--sideways.
Dean, the jerk pork guy on the beach, raises his own pigs. I like his pork the best, I found the Red Dragon's to be too dried out when I had it. Large spicy on the beach every day!
Dave - I thought the same thing. Dennis is the person I buy from and he said he raises the pigs and cooks his. Sells it from a metal box with charcoal in a bottom compartment to keep it hot.
