I've heard you can buy beer off the beer truck, if you can catch it stopped somewhere. Anybody done this? What do they charge for a case of Red Stripe or Red Stripe light?

Yep, just walk up to the driver and ask. I forget the exact price, but believe it was around $2300J for a case.
You sure can, so cool, Just do it ! about $2300-$2500 couple years ago.
25 for a case seems expensive
A case of Red Stripe has 24 bottles ...... $25 is a pretty good price for that :)
But red stripe is like the Budweiser of Jamaica.. Just seems like it'd be cheaper especially if u are getting it from the truck
25 us will probably get it done.
54,
That is the cost that everyone, including the bars and restaurants pay. That is why you cannot get a Red Stripe for ja$100 anymore.
Jamaica is the size of Connecticut - and Red Stripe is much better than Bud for my tastes. If Bud's major market was only in Connecticut - they would not be able to produce it as cheaply as Bud currently does...
Rum is the bargain drink in Jamaica; not beer; although it's a lot less money that we pay for beer in Canada; and Red Stripe is every bit as good.
Don't get me wrong.. I hate bud and Busch .. Red stripes are much better.. Iam just saying its not a full bodied beer and has a crisp taste like the bud does.. But yes I see your point but its not just Jamaica drinking it.. They have to have plenty of export
Just be glad you dont live in Canada as a case of beer here is $34, so its a good deal to us Canadians.

Most of the Red Stripe in North America is brewed in North America under license. It's not exported from the island.
From the Glass Lined Tankards of Old Latrobe ......Red Stripe??
ahh i didnt realize it was brewed here... maybe the stuff on island is better??
If your name is poolguy. You're allowed to drive the beer truck. Make deliveries and have beers on the way.
i cannot wait to try... yummmmm yum.... but i will say this, like groove i also will enjoy some girly drinks... i had to look up a dirty bannana after all the talk here... i made one at work the otherday.. cant wait for a real one of those either
dont forget that price is for bottle and case deposit also
they pay deposit in ja?
Hmmm..think we will be doing a taste test after our trip in April!
The bottles here are a little narrower as well. In Ja I got a Red Stripe stuck in my coozie which is designed for cans, and I just slid one of the new ones in the same coozie and it slides in and out. The beer here taste a little more bitter than the Red Stripe in Ja.
Yes there is a bottle deposit, and a deposit on the crate. We have imported Redstripe and Dragon Stout here in Ontario, as well as Red Stripe brewed by Moosehead which is much better!
No matter where it's brewed if you drink so many that you see 3 of everything go for the one in the middle.
Anyways that's what they said in my home ec class back in mi school days, or something like that.

Pooper.....seems your "coozie" got a little stretched out in Jamaica......
I used to think RS was a low carb beer until I realized that the carb count shown on the bottle was/serving and they claim there are THREE SERVINGS/BOTTLE.
ya gotta know the limitations of your "coozie"....especially when traveling.....:)
