When I have no trip in the works I avoid it, reading about everyone else having fun is just too darned depressing for me.
When I have a trip in the works, I am all over it and semi-obsessed with refreshing my screen every few minutes.
I need to learn balance and that it is okay for others to have fun when I am not :p
That is my confession for the day ............

i can see where youre coming from..i can picture myself layin low after my trip after ive relived my trip on here, it would not be something i would want to think about everyday... i mean ever since i found out iam really going in june, i cant get away from jamaica forums or watching youtube (things on jamaica).. am i making the wait worse?? i like to think it helps pass the time.. but if i had no idea when my return would be, then it would be TORTURE!!!!
It's simple really - book another trip as soon as you get home! Try it - it really does work :) I actually booked 2 when we got back just before Christmas. Our Dr. calls it the Tarzan Principle - you don't let go of the branch until you have another one to grab on to!
2Nutz, I am normally researching flight prices for our next trip before we have even headed home from a trip. But the Voice of Reason ..... aka Larry ...... puts a stop to my daydreaming and says that we won't be going again for "a year or two".
I then sit back and wait patiently for him to miss it as much as I do, plant a few precious seeds in his mind about going back and then watch the garden grow. Next thing I know we are booked.
I truly thought this time though that we wouldn't be going back so soon. We were just there in September and than again in November.
I really owe this trip to Groove and his lovely wife. They were the ones that helped plant the seeds and water the garden this time :p
541, it is torture, but it's a good kind of torture! Waiting is the hardest part, but departure day always creeps up on us!
it wasn't me...lol....but with you talking about -40 degrees, and -17 being a good day, the door was open and we just took it from there....

....and sometimes just gotta avoid it altogether like the plague lol
After every trip, I disappear for a while. It's just too hard and I miss it too much! I disagree about the waiting being hard. For me, that's the best part! I love the anticipation! Leaving us definitely the worst.
I think everyone here is just plain fun! I come for the laughs, pics, pains and joys shared. Never know if I'm going to be able to get that next trip planned, but this is a party!
Lol, 2nutz thinks like me. We book out next trip while we are there, and it makes the next countdown something to look forward to as I go through yet another NE winter. We booked two days before we left, going so far as to get a tour of the cottage we are staying in for the first half of our 2013 trip.
Mr Nutz has limited me to 3 trips booked at one time. Not allowed any more than that... (the 1st of 3 is a trip to Mexico in March - that's why it doesn't show here LOL)
Rinakim.....I do the same exact tactic...Ya know act dumb and just say WoW look at this cheap airfare I found and the hotel on sale too? Nah,lets forget that....Then let the soup stew....
