Iam going in June and i praying it doesn't rain much
thebeacher,my husband and I almost always go in April! I think it is considered the beginning of rainy season, but not bad!
Rainy season is June - end of October. Think hurricane season. June isn't bad but the chances of rain seem to increase as the month progresses. More rain at the end of the month than at the beginning, it seems. There are exceptions. There may be rain in some areas of the island & not others, just as there is rain at one end of the beach & not the other. You can go for days w/ no rain. It might rain/sprinkle for 5 minutes or pour for a couple of hours. It seems to change every year now w/ global warming but these are my observations of spending long summers in Negril for 2+ decades.
I have been many times in April never ever a problem with rain. In fact it's one of my favorite times to go.
No problem in April, rainy season starts in May-June!.
We usually go in April and the weather is great...unless we're walking the beach to have lunch at cosmo's...then we get rained on...it's happened to us so many times that it's funny now...In fact, we were just there in January (not our usual time) and made the trip from the cliffs to the beach so we could do our lunch at cosmo's...got rained on...the good part of the rain is it kind of pushes you to take shelter...have a drink...meet new people...make new friends...no problem.
I have been in July and October and both times the rain was like clock work. About a twenty minute shower between 2 and 3 in the afternoon. Hardly what I would call rainy.
That is the most relieving post of read in my life.. Haha I was getting worried but that I could handle
You must like it hot hot hot. April is cooler than both July and October, but not so cool to where you might see locals wearing a sweater. Now December is in it's own league. Perfect weather as far as I am concerned. I am able to comfortably wear jeans at night and reduce the bites.
Yep, have seen that in April as well. I actually look forward to the afternoon shower. I am forced to sit at the bar and 9 times out of 10 the bartender offers up the much needed water. Time to rehydrate and get your stride back....
We have been there in April...loved it! Storm comes and goes some days, but gives you a reason to take an afternoon nap!
Jim and I ahve been in Feb and late Oct and April. I like April the best. Nice and warm, smooth water to swim in, summer rates. Its all good. NO WORRIES MON~~
I would say "late" April may be rainy.Thats why the low price rates kick in. Try to book close to April 15th,thats the change date for the lower rates.
You can't make rainbows without a likkle rain. :D
Actually, the date of April 15th is considered the end of high season & that's why the lower rates kick in. Nothing to do w/ rain. However, it is tied to the weather improving in the spring in many areas of North America. People are more likely to travel to warm climates when it's cold where they live, not so inclined when it's warming up at home. Again, rainy season means hurricane season & that officially starts June 1. That doesn't mean it won't rain before then, it just isn't the official season for tropical weather that creates more rain, tropical storms, & hurricanes.
