How much do people normally tip Lenbert? (hate to tip too much / too little!)
I'm curious about this too.. I was thinking $20 per couple, but wasn't sure if that is enough/too much?
I tipped US$10 per person. I was told by an expat that it was "More than generous". Well worth it in my opinion.
Thanks Johio!! :)
April can't get here soon enough!!!
My pub crawl etiquette (I know, that sounds fairly contradictory...) -
Buy something (beer, shot, drink, soda, water, cake, festival, chicken, something!) at EVERY stop.
Do something silly at EVERY OTHER stop.
Egg on folks doing silly things at the ALTERNATING stops.
Tip Lenbert $10 minimum when you leave the crawl.
Don't forget to tip Lenbert if you leave somewhere mid-crawl.
Don't forget to buy something (beer, shot, drink, soda, water, cake, festival, chicken, something!) at EVERY stop.
Tip Lenbert more if you have used his concierge services.
OK so betwen $5 and $10 per person is probably a good guideline?
I would tip a minimum of $10 per person.
I tipped Lenbert $1000 JA for the 2 of us. Must have been good enough since he was sure to always say hello whenever we saw him around town after our crawl.
don't forget to offer the driver a cold bevvie!
For the crawl that we went on, we gave him $2000J for the two of us. Seemed to be the average that everyone was doing.
We had drinks at every stop and had the best time ever!
Can't wait to go crawling again ..........
Yes there was 9 in our bunch on the crawl, amongst others and we each tipped $ 10.00 - he certainly worked hard to keep us all on track and show us the hospitality of the West End.
In November I tipped him $20 for the wife and myself.
The couple that were with us tipped him $3. I was pissed at him and when his wife found out she was very pissed as well. (BTW.....he's a lawyer and certainly had more than enough money to tip him well)
In a couple of weeks there will be 10 in our group and I was already planning on tipping him $100 US for our whole group. $10 per person seems about right to me.
Thanks all!
our countdown is 35 days! Irie!
My group from August 2012 tipped $10 - $20 per person (most did $20 each). I would have paid way more if I were back home and had a driver that did a personalized bar crawl AND looked out for your well being the entire time.
It was the a major highlight of our trip and my friends and I are still talking about it. We hope we didn't corrupt anybody with our antics :)
I agree with Irie Always who said "he certainly worked hard to keep us all on track and show us the hospitality of the West End."
I tipped him $20 & felt it was well worth the experience. Looking forward to going again the 1st Wednesday in April!
Just about everyone tips $10, including myself. Oh, and if you forget, Lenbert will definitely remind you! He is a great driver and a great host -- it's a pretty good gig, too, if you can get 25 passengers, that's not a bad return for a few hours work in Negril .... He is friends with Bentley, and I think they might live on the same street up from Pee Wees, as I see Lenbert's bus there sometimes .... The pub crawl gets better and better as Sunset nears ......
We went back to one of the last stops several times before the crawl would pull in. Even funnier to be on the outside looking in. It would be just us and maybe one or two others, no music, just chill'in. Before long the pub crawl would pull up, Bunny Wailer would start blasting and drinks would start flying. The sun would set, the crawl would leave, the music would be turned off and there we would be just us and one or two others listening to the water lap against the cliffs.
A full trip report coming soon.....
Is there a link or FAQ for this pub crawl? How much is it, how many bars does it go to, how long at each bar, what time does it start, etc....
We had our pub crawl cut short once. I won't mention any names as he is a frequent contributor on this board, but one of the participants had too much rum. Or was it too much cake from C&D? Oh yeah, it was a combination of both. He passed out and fell off his bar stool just after sunset. I didn't see it, but it sounded like he hit his head. His wife screaming "OH MY GOSH!! OH MY GOSH!!" over and over again. We ended up taking him home and skipped the last two stops. It was fun, but remember to pace yourselves folks. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Is it me or does Lenbert look like Lebron James?? I agree 10 per person well worth it. There were people on our bus who forgot or failed to tip.......sad. I helped remind them :)
We tried to buy a drink from each bar as well but thats hard to do at times. Want to support them as well. Maybe next time if i dont purchase a drink at every bar i should leave a few dollar tip??
Rootsie you still on the bus the 27th of March?? See you then!
This can happen to you on the pub crawl if you are not careful.

We actually stopped at Lenbert's house on our crawl (he got out, we didn't) - he needed to get another battery for his camera. All I can say is that it wasn't on Pee Wee lane...
We tipped him 3,000 JA (for 2) but we had a blast and a very small group. There were only 7 of us that day, so not as lucrative for him...
Do a search here for One Love Bus and you'll find lots of info. The bar crawl is free, you just need to tip the driver (Lenbert) - hence this thread. We did 6 bars in total, he picks up around 2:30 and goes till sunset. We went in December, so sunset is early, could be dangerous later in the year?? Maybe he picks up later? You have enough time for a drink at each bar, if you don't nurse your drink.
Aaron Mindy...you bet! I'll be there with bells on :)
We must be lushes. We had a drink at each bar and we stopped at 8 bars total! :)
Enjoying the pub crawl which was part of my sister's bachelorette party.

Sorry bout that Johio,,Yes,,,Thats was me....One word of caution......Do NOT eat the "CAKE" my 1st time and I just gulped it down like a fool....Lenbert took great care of me though....I still remembered to tip him and bought him a gift last Dec for taking care of me....
No worries, Fred. I wasn't trying to "through you under the bus" (pun intended). :D
looks like the guy on our bus ride, was this at the pizza place down the side road?maradonna's or something like that?
