Any small groceries near this beach location? Just a small carryout for chips, pop, etc. We will stop at Hi Lo on way to the cliffs later in the trip.

There is an itty bitty store across the street, I recall. Can't remember the name of it. They have sodas, beers, and chips.
I think the place across the street near best in the west is called Mikey's.
Yes, Mikey's is across the street. It is very tiny, not much there. If you're looking for more, Shamrock is quite good and reasonably priced. It's about 1 km towards town from Idle Awhile. A nice walk, especially if you walk most of the way along the beach. It's also across the street from the beach.
If you walk down the beach, which establishment would you exit the beach near to get to Shamrock's? I am staying at IA too soon and might have the need for a little larger market than Mikey's? Thanks for the tip.
Here's a link to the map - http://www.negrilinfo.com/negril-map.html
Thanks. Looks like exiting the beach in the vicinity of Grand Pineapple would be ideal.
JamaGinger - I cut through at Alfreds to get to Shamrock (you probably cant cut through at Grand Pineapple since it is AI).
Good info. Thx. Sounds like Shamrock is best bet. They open Sundays? Gonna walk that way and get some coffee from big roy and thunder anyway...
Shamrock is open everyday. They open around 8 or 9:00 am and close around 10 or 11:00 pm depending how busy they are. We stay in their hotel behind the store and find they have most everything we need.
thank you for the information on the grocery store..very helpful
Yes, thanks Sam I Am for the Alfred's sggestion
Yah mon' Mikey's is right there across the beach road. Make sure he gives you the right change back. Also, just a short walk towards Negril is Myrna's grocery store. Nice friendly girls working there. Myrna's IS the coldest and cheapest Red Stripes on the beach. 140 J or $1.60 US. We just got back from a fantastic time in Negril. Stayed at the Tree House. Check it out, check it out !!! Now we have pns. Post Negril Syndrome.
