And the sign says, "Long-haired freaky people need not apply."
So I tucked all my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why.
He said "You look like a fine, upstanding young man - I think you'll do."
So I took off my hat and said, "Imagine that! Huh... me, working for you!" Woah-oh-oh.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there's signs.
Blocking out the scenery. Breaking my mind.
Do this! Don't do that! Can't you read the signs?

OMG, I love this post!
I am a sign fan too, I have tons, but I mostly have funny signs.....and there sure are some great ones in Jamaica

Ok, I am a bit slow but I did just get the Firefly/hot dog connection. You people have dirty minds. The funniest thing is a hot dog is the only meat they offer with breakfast or lunch.

23-7 was very popular for 3 or 4 years. Then there was unfortunate drama that forced it to close. It was mid beach and when i was there in November it was in bad disrepair. I'm not familar with the pirate beach bar so I don't know if that was it was first. I thought it was build as 23-7.

jan 23 - I think this may per date your Original Erica's Cafe sign!
Is Erica's still somewhere near mid way up the West End Road.
I remember they had the best fried chicken and you would wait for ever for your food to come, but you would be in company with the dogs and goats walking around waiting to eat what was left for them, if I am not mistaken you might even see a few of the chickens that had not made it to the fryer yet.

Yes, Erica's is between Rockhouse and Negril Escape. What year was this pic taken?

jan 24- 1982, back when eating was an adventure and would take up much of the day, walking to it waiting for it and guessing how it could be so good or what was in it.

One sign I have not seen posted yet is the ones hanging in most bars that says it is their intention to get a liquor license the first chance they get. I know i have a pic of one somewhere.
