Just a little history....
Been hitting the rock since "97" and have stayed at many places over the years
I booked a trip back in November/2012 for my 50th... The places that I booked were:
Sea Splash....Living Social debacle...
Westender Inn...Living Social...
Blue Cave Castle....direct
This trip was for 3/22 thru 3/31...Work constraints altered my trip dates... Sea Splash was going to be replaced with Xtabi... Constantly responded to my email requests
Westender Inn,,, said just let us know and we will alter my change in dates... Very professional
Blue Cave Castle.....No response from my Feb 26/2013 email requesting advice and how to change the travel dates...... I have stayed there in the past.. I have always had great praise for this property... I only asked for advice on changing my travel dates...No response at all
I have been patient enough and they can keep my deposit and I will replace them with another reputable property...
I have voiced my concerns directly to Blue Cave Castle and they have failed miserably.... I stand behind what I say... and here are my emails

Your actions dictate that you have no intent on replying or addressing my change in travel dates....I really thought that your property was above board.... Considering that I even stayed at your property, in the past, your lack of professionalism is subject to debate.....It is evident that you have no intent to even reply....I will air my complaints in another forum....
It is conclusive to me that you will not respond....It is not about the deposit,,,,you can keep it and not honor your commitment... You have provided me no " RESPONSE" That is now the issue and your lack of response only indicates that you lack the business acumen to respond and resolve....You fail on all accounts.... I have no desire , nor any interest to stay at your property.... at all....... You lost a client over a $ 100.00... deposit. The irony is,,,you failed to even realize,,,that you lost more in future business and recommendations...I will give you none... As far as I am concerned,,,this matter is resolved,,,you keep the $ 100.00 I will take my business, elsewhere..... you have lost mine......... Enjoy

What is stated verbally over the phone, cannot be documented nor do I know who is authorized to speak on there behalf...
The booking was done electronically via there secured website.
All follow up questions have been directed to there email address which they provided....and which I responded,,too
So it is very simple... I booked via there secured website and have followed thru with there email account... How they feel to respond is there business..
How I feel to respond ,, is my business.... I am responding via there email account and thru there reservation system... which took my deposit... It is not not about the money,,,,it is the principle,,,they failed to respond and I am only asking for a response.....Which has not been received...

I agree, just call. This is not at all like BCC.
Like rjonsun I have always used an email address of: info@bluecavecastle.com and that is the email from which BCC has responded to me.

I've never stayed there. Out of curiosity I went to their website and online reservation. Not sure where you got the email address you've been using, the one listed on the site is definitely the one posted above: info@bluecavecastle.com
It seems you may have been emailing to the wrong address. I would hate to see a reputation tarnished by an email address error. Please give the other one a try! Good Luck :)

I understand your decision. I also have stayed at BCC and I have high regard for them. However, I do notice that the note attached also showed that one of their responses to you WAS from the email address that you used. So, even though I see the point of the others with their address.....seems as if BBC used bluecave@jamaicacw.com to respond to your deposit. One would think that if that address was used to respond and accept your deposit....then it would be answered by that one also.
Now, if you heard back from them regarding the deposit on another email address, then maybe that could be it. With your documentation however, I would be put off by no response. A copy of an email can speak volumes. I have, in the past, had resorts not honor the room that I had reserved 9 months in advance. They wanted to move us 3 times. It took a copy of the email to have a room without moving and it still wasn't the one I reserved. Emailing does have its advantages.

the cwjamaica e-mail comes from the online reservation system - not a live person. i'd bet that is the automatic reply from the rez system and is NOT the regular e-mail account actually monitored and used by live persons for communication.
it's clear to me that your e-mails sent to the reservation system have not gotten through to them - that would be my first thought, not immediately jump to the conclusion that they are being negligent. That's never been their style, AND they have a clearly posted e-mail address on the website, which is the one intended for guest communications. imho you're being too quick to cop an attitude. Use the correct e-mail and you'll get a timely response. The staff at BCC is caring and responsive; in my experience Petrona doesn't just ignore guests. They have always responded in a timely manner to me, using the main e-mail address.

The above responses are making a point. Yet, in all fairness to the person that posted...maybe he or she didn't realize that. Not trying to be taking one side or the other...just responding in how one might feel. I could well overstand how this could make one be frustrated. I was just making the point that.."we are all human and at times, it can be frustrating when someone doesn't respond". I have total respect for Petrona and BCC. I have stayed there and was totally happy with everything. Petrona is truly a sweetheart of a lady. Yet as with all of us, stuff happens. A message board is an open forum for the good and the bad.
Things can happen...no doubt. Yet, sometimes we all can jump a little quickly...whether it is the person that posted or folks responding. Maybe the lesson to be learned is that we shouldn't jump to judge as Tarrus says in one of his songs. We are all in this board together, but, when we have a problem...we all must realize that even the best of resorts or the best of people....can have misunderstandings or as they say, "failure to communicate". Hopefully, this will be resolved yet all of us are again...only human. Blessings sent to all and hopefully this can all be worked out with dignity and respect.

Xtabi was real good about responding to emails until I asked got cottage one or four... Being that we paid and its the slow seaso. It seems like they could accommodate or at least respond.. They replied to my other questions but apparently that one was too personal

We had no problem with our BCC contact when we thought we would be staying there this year. They were prompt and answered all our questions within 24 hours. Dunno why anyone would start a thread like this without checking if HE got the contact details correct. I believe an apology would be in order!!!!

Negrilbound, sorry that you had communication issues with the Castle. I'm sure if Petrona had known she would have done anything to accommodate you. I believe the email address you used is an automated response from the reservation system. It clearly states on their website, including the reservations page, that their email is info@bluecavecastle.com. In 15 years of staying there I have never had an issue contacting them. Back before they had the reservation feature on the web site I made my reservations with them by phone and I always requested and received a confirmation email so as to document any transaction. I appreciate your frustration in this situation but please don't let this unfortunate situation sour you on a great place to stay.

I have been in contact with Petrona via emails just this week.....she would reply by the next day and was very helpful in helping plan our honeymoon stay with them.
The OP should try info@bluecavecastle.com , I bet they get a reply within 48 hours and I bet BCC would be willing to work with him/her.
On top of it it's your job to make sure you can take the vacation before you plan it...just think how hard it would be to run a motel if everyone pulled this.

A phone call to verify if they ever got your emails would have resolved this issue in 10 minutes or less. They would have provided you with a correct email address and you wouldn't have had to post a negative comment about BCC.

This is silly, just call Petrona she will fix you up in minutes. We have stayed there for years and they have gone the extra mile to make us happy. We love the castle.

While I understand you have feelings about BCC, this does look like the same case as Catcha went through being responded to using an incorrect email. I have not heard their old email address being used in quite some time. The correct one has been been posted
The OP received their answer and further postings will allow the thread to remain at the top of the board - causing the further damage that you are all saying you want to avoid....
And Catcha was a sponsor, so both sponsors and non sponsors are being treated alike.

Rob, it's not just that it will remain at the top of THIS board. it's that this erroneous information will be seen by anyone doing a google search. that's the potential for damage here.
now if it was actual useful information about a place to avoid because they really ARE doing something unacceptable, that would be different. but they're not.
it's not just about ppl having 'feelings' about the place - it's about general fairness and honor in business practices. it's just not right to leave slander-ish statements out there for the whole world to see when it's not true.

If you notice, the return email address is bluecave@cwjamaica.com and not their info@bluecavecastle.com. This is a problem with their online reservation system. This is something that the Blue Cave Castle needs to fix. They set up the Webervations system and seem to be using the incorrect reply email address. Only they can correct this information and this is extremely useful for them to know and to correct the reply email address.
How many other reservation have they lost due to not responding since their email address is incorrect? This is just the first person who has taken the time to post about it and let others, including the Blue Cave Castle know. I have helped many hotels set up their Webervations system and know exactly how to correct this error.
So, in fairness, the OP has every right to make their post. The problem with the online reservation was created by Blue Cave, not the OP.
Perhaps all the folks that think this post is unfair would be spending their time better letting Blue Cave know they have a problem with their online reservation system...

Though I shouldnt have to spend my time doing this, on the BlueCaveCastle.com website, I am still able to get into Online Reservation system and make an reservation request and below is the screen information that just came up when I did that. From this, I would properly guess that 1) my reservation request was sent and 2) someone will contact me to confirm the reservation request:

The OP stated the facts. He did not resort to name calling, his emails became more justifiably heated as he realized that he was not going to receive a reply or a refund, and he posted his emails just as he wrote them. Could he have done it better? According to some he could have, just as I am sure there are some out there that really see no reason for you to say "LOL. What a way to do it..." - could the OP have phrased it differently? Yes he could have, just as you could have. But there is no reason to remove the thread because of this.
As for your PM, in addition to all the other duties I perform, the additional time I have had to spend on this today has prevented me from getting back to you yet.
