Although I consider myself lucky to spend 40 days in Jamaica (33 in Negril and 7 in Duncan,s Bay) this winter, all can think of is how am I going to meet or beat this amount next winter?

Poolguywindsor, husband I often daydream about doing 1 month! Our reach this April will be 3 weeks, and we are extatic about that! Happy for anybody getting 40 days!
personally i wonder what the heck you do for a living, and is it too late for me to change careers:p
Self employed helps, winters are slow so I am able to take time off, which is why the frequent trips that are not always that long, mostly a week to 10 days. Also being flexible for the last minute deals like the one in feb where I got a direct flight for $261 taxes in. What I am hoping for is longer stays instead of the frequent shorter stays
I have a sneaking suspicion you'll be over 40 days within the next 40 days.
What other locations do you travel to?
40 days would be a blessing
You're Out of Control!!!!...lol
Thats a problem too, seeing some places I have not been,by the time I get in all my Negril stops its time to leave, and have not had time to explore other places on the island!
It's never enough. 20 days, 40 days -- I've been plotting to extend this whole week. Even got my bosses permission last night, but don't think I can get on a reasonable $$ flight Saturday or Sunday in exchange for my Wednesday departure. I might call today. In my mind the only thing that makes it easier to leave is having a date planned already to return.
omg ur such a brat LOL ;)
jk thats just me bein a hater haha
Youre like the Marco Polo of Negril....Im jealous...
Am tryin to talk my way into an april trip, but thats not goin to good so far! :)
a wise man once said its easier to ask for forgivness than permission:p
I wish I had a career that allowed me to go other times than just summer (teaching), but I guess it could always be worse! Lately though, I'm beginning to feel the pinch of children growing older. Braces, cheerleading, camps, cars, college, etc...something is going to have to give and it may be trips for a little while.
PGW- 34 days was not enough of Negril for me this year. But I did find that 34 days on the beach was too much.
Towards the end of that time, all of the noise (concerts, advertising guys, jet skis, hawkers, etc.) and hustle and bustle of the beach started to grind on me. Towards the end there were days when I didn't even go down to the beach until just before sunset. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach, but too much of a good thing. . . Kind of like eating ice cream every day.
And . . . OMG . . . I can't tell you how much I hate the effin beach road.
So next year I'm going from Dec 1 thru March 8, but I'm saving the beach part for the end. Two months in Red Ground, one month on the beach.
But I'm a man of leisure now - kids are grown up, no job to go to, no obligations, really - so I'm lucky to be able to do it.
I'm sure you will move to Negril when you can.
It was nice seeing you this year :)
But when you're on the beach road there's all the cool signs of all the cool places and Ozzie,s and cafe goa and the morass and all the likkle places and the market and the round about and and and:)
I can see where a long term stay would be too much right on the beach, the last two years the second week of the final trip of the winter season were spent in Duncans Bay and although it takes some adjustment I enjoy the quiet time there.
Thats about the amount of time I would like to get eventually, arounnd the first of dec. until sometimein march, hopefully I get there eventyually.
I have a few years before I will get away with that, maybe?
