This is my kinda thread! Recipes for some of the favorite mixed drinks would be an awesome addition. We have to start "practicing"!
Coconut Rum & Pineapple Juice :o
Dirty Bananas, Miami Vices, Purple Rains, Pina Coladas, anything mixed with Ting or Ginger beer, Rum punch

Or on my last trip I developed a real love for Apple Vodka and ting with a splash of grenadine, very light and refreshing!

Ting is a grapefruit soda!! I don't like grapefruit but ill give it a try

I would think Red Stripe and Rum Punch would be the most popular, but a visit to Xtabi for a Dirty Banana can really sway you in Negril ....
Although I do enjoy my Dragon Stout and Appleton golden special Rum and Ting, my favorite Jamaican drink is that REAL rum punch made with white rum, Myers rum, Orange Juice, A bit of Lime, and a dash of Grenadine, served in a tall glass with maybe three ice cubes. Cool not cold. That was the drink that everyone got the minute they entered the terminal at MBJ, back in the day. It's like drinking a bit of the Old Road to Negril if you know what that means.
Red Stripe and Rum Punch. Each place/bartender has their own version of Rum Punch. Some are better than others but each one I've had has is good in its own way. I drink a lot of Red Stripe at home (it's brewed in Latrobe PA for US distribution...I believe Ting is also bottled in PA too). Some say the US Red Stripe tastes different. I disagree but anything in Ja. does tastes better by default.

For breakfast - mimosas made with fresh OJ from the juice guy...
Rum Cream and coffee for breakfast
Banana rum cream for brunch
Red stripe for afternoons
Dirty Banana for happy hour

mi know a Jamaican who's drink of choice is milk and JB Overproof.....can you believe dat!
personally mi a Myers Rum and Pepsi guy.......Canoes Rum Punch is the only Rum Punch mi drink in Negril...
and of course Red Stripe, Dragon, Red Stripe Bold and Red Stripe Light when mi don't want to get a buzz.......lol

Alot of Jamaicans drink milk and JB including my dad and his friends
coco mania with pineapple juice & sprite, then for added flavor I add fresh coconut or fresh pineapple. I also keep coco mania in the coffee pot, cold in the refrigerator, with fresh pineapple. nothing like loaded fruit when coming in from the hot beach.
Could not have said it better myself except I usually don't make it to noon before the first Red Stripe!!

Personally, I like Red Stripe. Although the last trip, I had a Dirty Banana from Ivan's and I thought I was in heaven!
