Dont walk the road at night if possible......if you do take a flashlight.
Do try as many local eating establishments as possible.
Do take a walk up one of the lanes perpendicular to One Love Drive.
Don't walk at night on One Love Drive. Not because of crime but because of traffic and or wallking into a pot hole.
Do buy some fruit from the little stands and stop in the little stores for a cold beverage and some crackers.
Do head up to Sea Star for the Saturday night concert \ buffett.
Do take a walk up to the lighthouse.
And if your hotel does not have a pool, do stop off at Rick's Cafe' early (1 PM or so) to enjoy their pool before all the crowds arrive later in the day. An overpriced coke lasted me over 2 hours.
Regards.
Bob
You are going to love it!! It is like a "family"....take time to say hello and talk a while to the locals and vendors. Within a day or so, trust me...they will know you. That is part of the beauty of the cliffs. I enjoy walking the cliffs...even at night. Yes, one needs to be aware of the traffic and it is nice to carry along a small LED flashlight. But, being a country gal...I love walking as much as possible. If you are uneasy, grab a route taxi. Easy as can be. There are so many great places to eat and gather pon da cliffs. I am excited for you!
Just be yourself and show the love....every likkle ting will be alright. LOL Enjoy.......and then tell us all about it! :)
Do stop at xtabi for some snorkeling, cliff jumping and of coarse their famous dirty bananas:)
stop at No Limit Bar over by Pee Wees/L&M Market/Moonlight Villas.....
and have a cold $200 Red Stripe or a drink of your choice....
go over to Pee Wees for breakfast........and then go snorkeling right der.....at night watch dem sunsets
you can always have dinner at T&J's Restaurant right at the start of Ella Drive right der by No Limit Bar......
or go over to Teds Hideawya at Blue Cave Castle and have a great dinner der........
across from Blue Cave Castle you have Spydas bar........
going down towards the roundabout you'll spot Tanyons and CD Country Western for more places to eat....

Cool Runnings, Marko
Tour the Lighthouse.
Have a burger at AhhhBeees.
Have dinner at Ivan's....LTU Pub.
catch a sunset at Ricks.
Have dinner at Hungry Lion.
Have dinner at Ciao Jamaica.
Stop by Ras Rody's for lunch and definitely check out De Bar.
Do give yourself a self guided pub crawl.
I echo the careful at night thing.
PGW, Jackie and I were walking to Sea Star from bourbon beach making many stops along the way.. After sunset a car came flying by and I swear it was within 6 inches of taking all of us out.
Really, 6 inches, I dont remember that? lol, only one time! From an experienced west end walker always pays attention to the traffic, at all times, and everyting will be alright.
Then again. My judgement may have been cloudy that day?
Walking the road....no problem. Do it at nite all the time, just pay attention!!!!
Ox tail at Sips & Bites. Bring a can of Old Bay seasoning from home to give them.
Oh, Old Bay - really? I'm not the OP, but as a Marylander - CAN DO! :)
I never had a problem with the road at night. In fact I find it easier to walk at night because you can see headlights coming before the cars. That makes it easier to cross the street although there's often someone around that will spot traffic for you if you need to cross. My suggestion is to stay off the road when all the traffic is headed to Ricks for sunset and then leaving after sunset. The road is full of van's coming and going at that time and space on the road can get tight. Always be careful on the road and I suggest getting a cab if you've been drinking and have to walk a good distance. You don't want to stumble or stagger on that road especially when there's a lot of traffic. After a couple trips you'll learn where the tight spots are and where there's more walking room etc.
I suggest doing the pub crawl if you're not familiar with the area. You'll get a really good idea of the lay of the land and get to visit many of the places suggested already.

Be careful on the road (as everyone said), but don't be afraid to walk it at night with a flashlight. I love that road at night. And although it's narrow and drivers seem crazy, they aren't really going that fast so it isn't really dangerous unless you aren't paying attention.
And make sure you visit Ras Rody's. The food is great (and I'm not really an ital sort of guy) and the experience better.
Definitely Aubies for a burger, Ivans for a sunset dinner, Xtabi for snorkelling, and 3 Dives for jerk chicken.
The experience up on the cliffs is so much different than the beach. Both fantastic in their own ways, but like being in two completely different places.
We def know the traffic dangers. We always have a flashlight and we put lights on our backpack. I remember a few times walking hugging the wall... I can't wait to check out these spots. We have ventured to the cliffs but always with people who knew where they were going... Thanks for the suggestions
Have a WONDERFUL TIME your gona LOVE IT~~
Ditto. Do enjoy yourself, and do not stress.
Also... To another poster... Old bay for them too? I brought Bentley like 5 pounds of the stuff last trip. Did not realize it was so popular there.
