SeaSplash one bedroom suite ocean view?
Greetings,
I posted this on the tripadvisor. A helpful poster on that forum advised me to post here, noting that perhaps Mrs. Wilson might answer my question.
We are planning our first trip to Jamaica and have booked the one bedroom suite at SeaSplash. We prefer ocean view rooms and at the time of booking we were told that those suites were ocean view. Subsequently, we have been told that they are garden view, in fact, all their rooms are garden view. And today I was told that those suites are partial ocean view.
I did read Mrs. Wilson's trip report on SeaSplash but I am still unclear on which of the one bedroom suites are ocean view, if any. I'm hoping Mrs. Wilson or someone else here can help.
Thanks!

We've stayed in I believe room #8 ,that's the" ocean view room" it's a sweet suite but its more pool ,Norma's view, than ocean view but a nice veranda and enjoyed it every time we were there!

Re: SeaSplash one bedroom suite ocean view?
Sorry but I just saw this thread and I hope I'm not too late to answer but the room you are probably asking about would be suite #6. I will post a view of the ocean but as Striper said it is more of the pool and Norma's Restaurant.
One drawback though is the kitchen opens pretty early so don't plan on sleeping in. I have stayed it that room for the last 15 years and I keep going back.:D
First photo is from the balcony looking towards Norma's and the second one is looking from Norma's back towards room #6.

I stay in the room you are asking about. It is suite #6. As Striper stated it has more of a view of Norma's and the pool but it is a very nice room. But don't plan on sleeping in because the kitchen is just below and they open up pretty early.

I will post a couple of photos.Attachment 25650Attachment 25651

Thanks Buzzbag! Not late at all - we don't leave for Negril until mid-May. The photos were really helpful!

Re: SeaSplash one bedroom suite ocean view?
Hi -- sorry I'm late to the party! The rooms in the block closest to the ocean, and the only block with ocean view, are 6, 7 and 8. 6 is what Buzzbag showed -- you can see blue through trees. 8 faces garden. 7 has the most ocean view, but it is also a partial, and you do have to look over the not-so-sightly tops of building next door. However I decided this year that without fail, and despite the roof tops and rebar, 7 is the best. Here is pic.Attachment 25652

Meant to also answer lathomas re nighttime at Seasplash and service. We are there almost every night during 2 weeks. The food is very good. Really good. Most nights we had dinner in our room and service was fine - certainly no more than what you would expect in Jamaica. And if there was a big crowd in the restaurant when we called they would tell us it might be a little longer. Nights are quiet for the most part. Often either my husband or I, sometimes both ; ) would go down to the bar after dinner. Some nights not many were around, some nights there were 6-8 people there -- never really busy unless there was something happening (like karoake night for eg). We like it that way. Those who like more action go out.

Thank you Mrs. Wilson! Great pic!
Re: SeaSplash one bedroom suite ocean view?
PSRV - The pic is from the balcony, where I worked every morning and enjoyed this view. After the first day I didn't even see the rooftops. You will be real happy in the one bedroom suites -- they are very spacious, like a one=bedroom apartment really. If you plan to do much cooking, just let them know ahead or when you get there and they will make sure you have what you need (sometimes the pots/pans/plates get moved from room to room, but they can always fix you up!) Just write if you have more questions, there are a few of us on this Board who are very familiar with this property.
Re: SeaSplash one bedroom suite ocean view?
Thanks again everyone for all the information! We asked for and received room #7 and I'm sitting in the room as I type this. The room and hotel are great! The trees have grown a bit since Mrs. Wilson's pic so the view of the ocean is limited, but we are still enjoying it. The ocean is fantastic! Warm, shallow, clear, with soft sand. And the restaurant here, Norma's, is awesome! We are having a wonderful time!!
