The 12 year....warm (Thanks to my good friends Guiripie that turned me on to that)
Sit it out on the porch in the sun and then take a sip.....good god that stuff is amazing! Who knew? Well, obviously Guiripie did ;)
I like the VX...
All of them are good and some really great!! Overall, the one that is most typically in our room is Genesis (clear rum but NOT overproof) much like our light rums in the states. Mixes so well with so many things. The 12 year is also kept in stock too! Gotta have a variety! :)
My favorite is the one someone buys for me :)
VX on the rocks...
We bring back 3 liters of the 12yr every year!
I prefer to mix with Ting. So my favorite is the good old Appleton Special.
We took the Appleton tour last trip. The guide was showing us the bottle of vx. She described it as "Curvy and sexy - like a lady". Then she described the Special as "Straight - like a man". She said the vx was a sipping rum and never mix it. "Remember.... Sexy, NO Pepsi"
Thanks all!
Special for mixing. Extra 12 yr. old for sipping. The VX is ok but it's younger and not as smooth as the Extra. If you can afford it the blue label 21 yr. old is simply amazing!
How much is this 21yr old
I've seen it any where from $110 US to over $200 US for a 750ml bottle.
There is a private reserve that was never sold to the public. By now it's at least 100 yrs old
a reported 4 bottles of Wray & Nephew exist that was made in the 40's.....they are made in a way that is no longer done......they are valued at $54,000.00 EACH!........."DONT TOUCH THAT TING FOR GODS SAKE"
sip n smile :)
BUT my personal favorite is....my last one and the next one......
