151 that is what I heard that is the best rate I have ever had down there thank you
??? explanation please. Am I missing something?
SandT CHI the op is asking the UK £ rate not the USD rate...
oh man...sorry. guess i should read whats actually there
US$ to British Pound 1-1.55
US$ to J$ 1-97
British Pound to J$ 1-150
According to Oanda at 6:30 CDT
Ras W, I'll give you one million US$ to convert to British Pounds for me if you can get me 1.55 pound for a buck!!! :p My point is these exchange rate threads are full of errors and inaccuracies.

On all the main Negril.com pages (Home, Hotels, Dining, etc) there is a currency converter along with current weather conditions near the bottom right of each of the pages!
Hey CapD,
Ras W posted erroneous information that an exchange rate of US$ to British Pound 1 - 1.55 exists. For certain, no such exchange rate exists in Negril, Tokyo, London or New York or anywhere in the world. (You would need at least $1.50 USD to purchase 1 GBP).I was trying to illustrate that these exchange rate threads are only confusing to people and full of innacuracies.
Regardless, thanks for the heads up that I won't be able to exchange a million USD at a cambio in Negril. I wasn't too sure about that!
Newer visitors might be best served by these threads being closed off by Rob with the suggestion to use the Negril.com fx link.
A reminder to never, ever, don't ever change money on the street. I learned the hard way.:(
Sunray, I didn't pull those numbers out of thin air. That info was copied directly from the Oanda currency exchange site. Today it list the exchange as 1-1.535 and the currency converter linked by Rob on the main page of this site list the exchange at 1-1.54 so where is the inaccuracy? Also here is a link to the FX Trader page for the current daily exchange which lists the rate in that same range: http://www.fxtrader.gkmsonline.com/rates FX Trader is the cambio I use in Negril
Ok I see the confusion it is 1 pound sterling to 1.5 US$ I humbly ask for forgiveness and agree that the rate listings can be confusing. But hey I'm a Yank what do I know from pounds and pence...
the FX Trader is the one to go by....that is the Western Union/Cambio place beside HiLo
some of these other internet rate places are way off da money.........
this winter mi took a peak and one internet site said 92.5 and wi were getting 91.5 in Negril........
Cool Runnings, Marko
Here is a dashboard widget for Mac that is right on the money (pun intended). I look at the rate which is updated every 30 mins and when Linston goes to the ATM it's right on.
I think there's a widget for the PC also
