He said "everything look really far from the resort" so I guess these options are not options for him.
I thought being "really far from the resort" is the whole reason to get out anyways!

Be sure to check out our Things To Do section - there are many places close by to Negril!

Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Glistening Waters is really far from Negril
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Is this your first time to Negril? Jamaica? With another week I'd consider Port A or Ochi for a week, then some of those other activities aren't that far away.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
We came already 2 weeks at Ocho Rios ,we came to Dunn's river falls,James Bond beach,Green Grotto Caves.Rafting Martha Brae, Bob Marley 9 mile and Mystic Montain ,we're fine for this area.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
You could go to the blue hole or roaring river.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
I have stayed at Lido twice and the nude side is the best, but what you should do for the second week is go "over the wall" and get a place in the cliffs or on Long Bay. Signed.....Former compound prisoner?

Hey Pelicano:
If you play golf, I would definitely recommend a few rounds (or even a few 9-holers) at Negril Hills Golf Course... Fun, funky little course.
Scooters are another awesomely fun way to pass the time, while being a convenient way to get around!
I also enjoy bringing a paddle-ball set (or two)...
Fishing for your dinner...
Whoopie's Hammock Park...
Doing anything extra-early in the morning...

Then there is the time honored "sitting on your arse and looking into space" sport. It is really fantastic, and I consider myself a pro by the second or third day of vacation.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Lighthouse, definately Whoopies, Red Dragon bar in Red Ground, rent bicycles and drive down West end road, Abekouta park, parasail, Sav shopping.....so any options, just get off that AI property.

Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
I agree, go for the 2nd week, but don't stay at the same resort. There are lots of great non AI hotels on the beach and cliffs. There's lots of activity and people watching on the beach. Staying there is an excursion itself. You can go to Xtabi on the cliffs to explore their caves, snorkel, jump, have drinks and eat. Gorgeous view. Go to Seastar for their Saturday night buffet and live show. Go to the Negril.com webcasts. Stop in at the little bars for their happy hours. Chat with the locals. Try a different place each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go to Charela Inn Thursday evening for dinner and their live jazz show, Idle Awhile Friday night for their buffet and show. Have a look at the entertainment section on this forum for a listing of things to do several times a week. Explore and get to know Negril while in Negril, that's the beauty of it, it's not within a "resort".
You may want to go to Rhodes Hall for a few hours, quiet, natural, great snorkeling, tours of their historic property, horseback riding...

Thanks for the great shots. Much appreciated.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Those are all wonderful suggestions, but be careful what you recommend. Horseback riding along Negril's beach in any form or fashion is strictly illegal and the Police will stop that activity if they are present. It is better to stay with fully licensed and insured horseback riding operations. Likewise, spearfishing is illegal in most places where fish are present, especially in proximity to any reef or marine park. Line fishing or deep sea fishing is preferable. Jet-ski's are also carefully regulated as they are very unfriendly to the environment..
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
how about canceling the a/I and staying on the beach at someplace like idle awhile or charela and the second week on the cliffs at someplace like catcha falling star or tensing pen. also don't miss Saturday night at seastar.

That must be something new since the last time I did it. They stopped by with the horses at 4AM and there was no problem. I forget the place that brought them by but we had ridden with them on trials. I never thought to ask if they were licensed so thanks for the heads up. They showed us how even a wild horse could be broken in water. I might even have some photos of the event. I also rented Jet Skis but they were right there along with everything else you could do. Are they still there I wonder.

I MUST agree with Rhodesresort. These Beach activities all sound nice but they are Killing the reef. spearfishing and jet skis are causing so much damage. Us as Negril Lovers should help preserve not hinder...
please read this thread and help all that you can..
