Are any of you finding it hard to get non stop flights out of Phila? The only one they are offering right now is 10 am. for Feb. They use to have a 8am flight and Us Air is the only carrier. This is getting tougher each year. I sure do miss Air Ja. and Carribean Air for MANY reasons!!!:(
Hey - Count yourself lucky! We have not been able to find ANY non-flight to MoBay EXCEPT from Philly - Newark etc.. at least one stop - we booked out of Philly for our July trip..
Yeah, the only nonstop we can get out of Philly is US Air leaving at 9:55 AM daily. We are booked for November. The price is okay ($465) but you have to pay extra for baggage.

Since United out of Newark only flies on Sat and Sun and departs at 11 am we flew out of Philly on May 15th. At that time they had flights every day at 7:55 am. We were having lunch on the beach at 12:30. I did not realize the flights have changed again. Darn, we were so happy with the park, stay and fly service, the earlier flight, flying mid week for less crowds and saving $200 for each round trip fare. Figures.
This has me worried now. I just grabbed my printed itinery and I have a 7:55 am flight on 11/11/2013....last trip we are booked on Carribean air, and that got cancelled slightly 4 months prior to departure. I paid $3,000 for two tickets. I do not want it changed.
Just double checked... The 7:55 am flight is still good in nov.

I just checked as well and it is still a daily scheduled flight at 7:55 all the way through May '14.
I did check for January, since that is your time frame, jan24. And there is just the 10 am listed. Weird.
jcjcnj......I know I have been checking all day and different sites and the only one is 10am AND now the departure is at 2 instead of at 3, not much of a big deal but you are missing more time on the rock.
Hussyband, glad your flight is still available and you can keep counting down without worry, but $3000 is some chunk of change for this girl.....maybe in my next life.
rjonsun....... You had no luck with the 8 am flight either.....we are taking Newbies and had them ready to start the fun earlier.....well I guess being there for sunset will have to do.

The only nonstop that Kayak shows for November is US Airays at 9:55. There were some other flights a bit cheaper and getting to Montego Bay a few hours earlier, but there were changes in Charlotte. I not willing to do that if i don't have to.

The whole airfare thing is frustrating to say the least. The airfare to Jamaica has been so reasonable in the past that we never even used our miles. In '12 we paid $248 round trip from Newark, in Jan. This past year we traveled in May and used miles to pay for the round trip $500. What a difference a year makes.
I got US Air,non-stop with the 10am depart & 2pm arrive for $515,which isn't bad........DaRev if you will go to Philly instead of Newark then I would look at Jet Blue from JFK.Great new terminal,no 1st class,they don't serve meals so the aisles are always clear........
i feel better about my $835 per ticket price for the December 28th non-stop!
We are in central PA and found non-stop out of BWI through Air Tran. $390 RT.
Let's hope US Air keeps the non stops from Philly because they may be a thing of the past. They have already cut a day or two of non stop from Philly from the roster and I hear from a US Air employee that it may be more or all once the merger is complete with AA. I have 45 seats in march 2014 on the 7:55 a.m. non stop and I am hoping it holds. I too miss the days of Air J.....
If they cut non-stops out of Philly, it would be bad. It would be the end of trips to jamaica for me. I'd have to find another non-stop location. It seems weird that they are doing this... In 15 trips to the island, I cannot think of a single flight that was not packed, high or low season.
I hear you Hussyband. The US Air repo was telling me that you might have to connect in Charlotte, I think. I am hoping it is not the case because it may affect my group destinations as well because part of the ease is the time inflight and of course the love of the island. In in over 40 + trips I have never been on one empty flight Airj or US air.
Ti2m....You got a great rate there but BWI is about 3 hrs. from us and is it really worth gas and time to us??

Hussyband.... I agree that the flights we have taken have been booked for the last 15 yrs......think how this is affecting the taxi gentleman in Jamaica who used to do 2-3 runs a day!???
