Looking to go cliffside on 2nd reach! Can anyone provide me with any information and pictures of the Garden Rooms at Xtabi. Looking at their website it says a Standard Superior Room with A/C and TV weekly for $380.00. Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms and provide me the #'s of these rooms so I can inquire/book accordingly?
Look on Negrilonestop.com. They have good pics, video, and descriptions of the rooms. You can even call them to determine that you get exactly what you want. If you book through them, their prices are the same as booking direct.
I have stayed on the Garden side hotel rooms on many occasions. I like several rooms for different reasons which I will share with you.
Room # 15 which is on the 2nd floor far left. Its close to the office and pool, but its easy to access from the stairs and a tad bit larger room and balcony. You also don't have an ajoining balcony door with your neighbors (not that I have ever had any issues with that, and I think they lock etc).
Room # 11 or 12. Room #11 is on the opposite end of Room #15 on the 2nd floor. Both Room 11 & 12 have a nice view of the ocean. You may hear some road noise, its really no biggie and slows down after the sunset tours up to Ricks end. Both of these rooms are great and I think you would be very happy in either. Actually I have never had ANY bad rooms at Xtabi.
Now on a different note my hubby likes 1st floor Room # 19. It stays cooler and darker in the mornings. I don't mind the sun shining thru the windows in the morning, but he loved its being a little more dim and nice and cool.
Funny thing is we have tried to get over to the cliff side and rent a cottage, but honestly after almost a dozen stays at Xtabi we always end up in the Garden side and very happy to do so. It's not that far from the cliffs & ocean. We bring our snorkeling gear and setup on a chair, we never have had anyone mess with anything of ours. Its a very family feel to the hotel. Sharon the head housekeeper is jewel. Wonderful woman. And while Xtabi always tells me they have a small refrigerator, it never happens. BUT Sharon will setup you up with nice hard sided cooler and ensure you have ice at very expensive charge when you need it.
CC(US) I would like to hear more about Sharon, this wonderful housekeeper and ICE!!! lol We are staying in Room24 with another couple and were told there is a Small REF. we like icy Red stripes and they like Icy whatever.....Please share your secret on making this work....so it will be expensive, but we will have ice?? I am still stressing about no a/c and hot flashes..lol COLD bev. would be Wonderful.....
The rooms are nice and have AC, and that's important. Xtabi is a very nice place.
24 has a frig for sure,I think she meant the smaller rooms can get hooked up with a cooler:)
Use to stay at Xtabi...many, many years. Truly enjoyed it!! Only changed it up, due to the fact that after a while...it is just nice to change it up and discover new places on the cliffs. I have no doubt that we will be back at Xtabi. Nice vibes, great bar, great snorkeling, pool....and of course, some great food! I have no doubt that you will be one happy camper!
Thanks for the insight everyone, very helpful. I've started emailing Xtabi direct about some questions I have about their garden side rooms. One thing they haven't informed me on is whether or not any of the garden side rooms have Wifi access?
Is there WiFi available in these rooms?
We were not able to pick it up in#24 nor were we able to pick it up in #1 ,with an iPad only at bar/restaurant
Xtabi garden side rooms are a great value
We call room 15 home and love it:) Sharon is fantastic - as are all the staff in my opinion - they will go the extra mile to make sure you have what you need! We found the WIFI to be much improved last January and had great speed from our balcony - but hit and miss inside the room. I would often skype from the garden tables and had great quality and speed. My husband had to upload some files for work and had no problems at all.
