I wanna post a trip report but?.. If i do you just wont believe me!!!!!!

it was 4.15 am 7-11 and a little chill in the air when cass and adolfo pulled in my lane , I stepped out on the porch like a kid ready for opening day of deer season excited and hollard whaz up!,Cass responded not much lol it was funny like the beer commercial in the states yrs ago. we meet with smiles on our faces knowing by lunch we would be on the ground in mo bay, And then it happened the 1st of many weird things happened i asked cass you got your pass port just funning with him and he replied no!!!, Aw **** mon your messing with me? naw mon left it on the desk at home!. In the taxi we jumped and off the mountain we raced as fast as we dared to go all the way back to medellin. Anyway we grabbed it jumped in and made the airport with time to spare!. flights were quick an hour ten to panama the one hour 45 mins to mo bay. Cass was bringing his lady a teacher from equador and me my lady and wife to be natailia from colombia.Then the next thing happened I got questioned by immigration in mo bay how many times you been married?,two many i answered, Thinking he was messing wit me.He wasnt where did you go last time you leave jamaica ? hmmm lets see last year hmmm costa rica! why?and on and on till it wasnt fun anymore for either of us and he stamped the p/p and let us in,, Weird. must be the jamaica, costa rica, colombian triangle of a life i have hmmm charlie take note will bite me again...We grab our bags and headed out to meet percy. As soon as we stepped outside the noise, heat, and smell of jamaica overwhelmed us. For me it felt good to be pon di rock again . We loaded headed to negril rain blasting wipers screeching and refreshments flowing, It was a good ride,And the first stop was canoe as always. Rob happen to be there doing a web cast we spoke , And it felt good to see him an old friend. Anyway hunger was calling so i ordered the vegi pasta we all ate then headed to our new digg's. The Xtabi, my first time ever there really looking forward to staying sea side, Checked in and little did we know what was about to happen next,which will be in part two. l8ter.

Alright! A nice start mi friend...so needing a Negril fix. Plus, Xtabi was one of the spots that took our heart for about 8-10 trips. So anxious to hear more.

Being one that loves to move around on the cliffs, this report is going to be right up mi alley. Continue on Tattoo..........So looking forward to your adventures with your wife to be. Congrats BTW! Keep that WV spirit rolling......:)

Anyway Xtabi what a gorgeous place! sea side number 1 was really dated and had a musty smell, ok we arrive happy but wore out and really hadnt partied much just looking for some rest, So off to the bar while natalia tried calling home. two beers l8ter back in the room we fell into a blissfull sleep untill i woke to scratch a skeeter bite and thats when i froze!!, We were not alone!!!.. part 3 tomorrow..

The best snorkeling is to the left in front of 3 Dives.They throw the remains of all the lobsters in the sea so it makes for feeding and a nice reef.

Tattoo -- this is your friend from Arkansas or Tennessee! I really enjoyed hanging out with you for a bit this past time.....Still can't forget your expressions when you returned from your Booze Cruise and your near death experience!!

Good morning everyone time for part 3. As i said i woke and immediatly froze as i watched the door down stairs open and a person leave our room. totally freaked out i woke natty up we turned the lights on and realized we had been robbed!!!. The person who ever it was had the balls to come up the steps and removed our things from the desk and night stands around our bed while we were sleeping. Now this is as much as im willing to talk about what happened other than police were called there was a confrontation and My girls,smsung galaxy 4, digi camera , clothes, sanwiches,deodorant ect ect had been taken. Our stuff was taken down stairs gone through and it was frigging unnerving!. The police found my computer cord out back in the flower bed the next morning, It was the only item recovered, There is suppose to be a investigation by the detectives into the incident. We promptly checked out with our friends and left. if your wandering why we didnt hear anything,He used the crashing of the waves to muffle the sound of what he was doing. anyway if natty wasnt beside of me i would probably be locked up for a nutso episode. The adventure only has begun there is lots more to come .After lunch ;)

Lots of cool people here at seastar nice,,,the ky girls as i choose to call them are a blast to hang with must get out with them today. I miss natalia, oooppps that l8ter in the trip report.

Rhodes hall in a few mins had a blast there last week, Percy said he neva see mon who sleep in wata with no raft 1hour and 45 mins heheh its that sublime, Everyone at rhodes hall was beautiful to us. And btw everyone at xtabi was really nice too. And just everywhere I still love negril! And no the incident will not drive me away as a matter of fact i was not allowed to return home more on that l8ter. off to the saltwater pool the spot i treasure most in jamaica the corner of the pool looking out across the bay. The deep end. What a great name for a bar the deep end. lol Anyway there is sooooo much i havent spoken about yet . Like my mishap at sea. thats next. chao.

Ok rhodes hall was most xcellent today xcept the pool was empty ;( cleaning day even had a nice little shower of julia (rain) sat under the palm till it passed. Came back with the girls and stop at sweet and spice man is the chicken good there or what!. a little nap at the hi lo and home to sea star. heading to the pool with my baloon soccoer ball. Ok back to the other day me and cass natalia gerry g123 and esthella -equador lady went to the blue hole at roaring river which is actually really nice now no more wooden fence a concrete dam wall and steps have been built, and went swiming natalia on a nature walk got stung by a wasp in the achillies tendon and took it like it was nothing! Wrong we ended up at dr reddys a two shots 4 scrips and salve. 300 or bucks out the door we go lol. She wanted to go big boata so we found ourselves at the riu booking the wildthang and man what a nice place the riu is. sweet digs lots of music cool beach ect typical ai , but really nice.after waiting 30 minutes we boarded then it all started to happen more after i get back from the pool.jeje

The wild thang still have to wade out to get on jeje. I was reconized right away and was given the treatment by the boat staff who were awesome!, they provided ice bucket and large bottles of beer for me. Anyway leaving riu the boat stopped at two other places and loaded people it was actually kinda full. 50 bucks what a deal open bar and the cruise.evryone was having a good time the water was choppy so it was a fun ride when we got to the cliffs a chase boat showed up and dogged us until it was time to unload they pulled alonside and took 4 loads of people in to ricks for about an hour or so then stated to bring everyone back, thats when some of us were holding on to the other boat so everyone could step across a wave rose the boat and dropped it really fast catching my hand lifting me out of my seat throwing me down between both boats! by the grace of god Im alive today. black and blue from hip to knee and one broken knuckle hmmmmm keep a stiff chin charlie it cant continue little did i know. we returned had a great time for the most part I owe my life to the guys on the boat that pulled me up could be really bad anyway we left went to canoe ran into marcia she never ages looking good. And Rob and lisa and everyone had a great time. Rob has done an amazing job over the yrs. I really dont know how he keeps going/, must be a labor of love, Now my lady who doesnt speak or read english has been traumatized the first nite then gets stung goes for shots then sees me almost killed, Im really feeling for her.what a trip really being tested, back in the day when i was a little wilder i could expect it but this trip im mild and very little party so go figure . Sleep rest seastar our home which feels so good to return too. And then we spend the next day uneventful at the blue hole really nice little hotel they have there pool and the hole. Guys go see it its a blast 10 bucks to use it.Anyway it was time to go home yesterday and we went to the airport and it happened again you really wont believe my luck this time, We handed our pass ports to copa and more after karaoke the sea star singer thats in the tv contest is here tonite and im going down will fill in what happened later.

Also l8ter after the show i will fill in about the dead guy. Yes you thought the story was over noway ! jeje l8ter

Nice report Charlie. Met you at Seastar some years ago. Sorry about your cliff hotel experience.
Stick with Seastar, only 'visit' the waterside and agree Rhodes is a wonderful spot too.

ok snuck up from the show to give some more, went to the airport was checking in put the luggage on the scale handed our p/ports to copa girl and she printed natalias ticket and then looked at me and said i couldnt leave to go back home!!! my jaw dropped.Said I had to buy a ticket to the states befor i was allowed to go back to colombia! ! explained my ticket was paid in advanced i left from colombia and have a home there now girl asked for my deed or papers to my house and property i really felt the pain in my neck starting to grow and explained my stamps are good look she refused i asked for a mgr or super they backed her natailia again is freaking and crying and has to board and go through security customs ect alone. She has never been away from home ever till this trip. Anyway we got her on her way im pissed no phone percy already has left copa pissed at me for not buying a ticket , Man wtf!!! I refused to buy a ticket so i could use the one i had already bought.
now my lady is on her way scared and im beyond a happy man at this point so a nice old man loading luggage called percy for me no answer what do i do the man came outside found me and passed the phone to me it was percy he came back thank god,back to sea star after we stop for a cold beer i really needed one at that time. wow. anyway we are heading up the road and pulled up on scene of a car accident a cross over at high speed and killed a man which was face down 50 yrds infront of where me and percy sat! had to look at his body for 20 mins till traffic passed, Got back to seastar and went for a beer rochelle hollard phone charlie, I answered it it was my mother who was pissed and yelling at me for not calling her in 7 days or so hung the phone up looked at the clock 6 hrs my baby should be home, And she made it! thank god, And she wasnt pissed at meat all tells me she loves me misses me and come home soon as i can, then tonite the phone rings again and copa says its law ect agents doing as told ect i almost puked , explained ticket bought paid for ect ect no wanna here anything hung up mental note natalias father is refered to as Don then his proper name aw **** her mom and dad are going to be pissed , and then my friend who came from medellin skyped me and said- more l8ter going back down to the bar.yes theres more!!! really.

So cass skypes me my friend who lives in medellin and has no continuance to the usa ticket either and says charlie mon sitting here in panama they tried the same **** with me about the us ticket thing and he said he got a supervisor and the supervisor made a call and he was allowed to board and go home... im really lets say not having much of a good time by this point.Anyway copa skyped me and said they researched it and americans and italians we exempted from the rule and they stood in the wrong! are you kidding me whats the chance of them admitting that said they would try and make arrangements to get me home l8ter this week. wow thats the jigst of it left out alot cause of relevance but dang guys i really dont need anymore of this.I called xtabi and asked if any of our things were recovered the lady who answered said she knew nothing about it. laughable, my lady had to leave and travel no phone we are 2thousand in the hole on those items alone extra expense at every turn. and seperated from my lady.Got robbed natalia got hurt i almost got killed airport was screwed up, And seeing the dead guy at the wreck. ive come and gone from jamaica alot im looking around lots of the bizznesses are closed and the vibe at this point is of survival there is no more fun to be had for me.just the friendship of those i know and meet, Canoe was closed today bummer, kirby no here, Burbon beach has the best chicken i ever tasted the sauce too is on point at this time, red dragon awesome as always and the swim spot always good. but the scales have tipped mi friends and it may be a longtime b4 i return. Seen shaky last night bought him a bigga grape pop and spghetti, he was showing me his keys to his new place he was proud. Now if i get to go home how do i explain myself to Don hijo and the mrs?. other than that the skeeterz suck,the cooler went out at the bar today, francines new baby is adorable, everyone is in good spirits, ok im ending the post will share more if warranted . chao. ps im wore out.

I heard of your troubles at Xtabi on another board - I have to ask - did you have your door locked? We're headed there in September and I have since decided to NOT bring my iPad and to fork over the $3/day for the in-room safe. It's just my BFF and I and now I'm nervous, but we can't change hotels without a hefty fee b/c we booked on Expedia. It's super disappointing because that hotel really 'spoke' to us, so to speak (in both price and location). And MAN, what a cruddy situation with your flight back and your poor gf having to fly alone and with no phone!

nicole no worries, there's no need to be nervous; if you won't be bringing any "irresistable" items, you'll be very un-interesting to any potential thieves. Without anything to steal, you won't be a target... so don't stress - Xtabi is beautiful, relax and enjoy!!

Charlie,I'm sure you can't wait to get back to Medijean after these circumstances.I have travelled Colombia for the last 38 years and can see why you are making it your home.I'm looking at buying in Popayan but I will always go to Jamaica.

Update talked with resort today no items recovered, No arrests.

I removed your thread as requested, but then had seconds thoughts. I will certainly delete it if you really want me to, but your first hand stories are useful for future guests. You seem to be leaving "artistic license" to a minimum and stating things pretty much as they happened. And dont really think you are traumatizing anyone.

My instincts tell me that the real traumatizing is coming from the second hand stories posted by others elsewhere These second hand stories by definition fill in the missing facts with pure supposition from the poster's mind simply because the incident did not happen to them and they cannot know what really happened. What parts of the stories they dont know they fill in on their own. And sadly enough, they often relay the stories purely to sensationalize and increase their number of views.

But I see nothing traumatizing about your accounts - and I have to give it to you, for being "black and blue from hip to knee and one broken knuckle", you certainly maneuvered Red Dragon quite skillfully after the boating incident... (grin)

Thank you Rob mucho respect,,,I will continue, have not been sleeping well since natty went home and yes i will send a picture of my lady l8ter. took a loratab at 6 this morning instead of sleeping it amped me up never left the room till 1. meet the girls from kansas at the bar and started on red stripes no desuano breakfast the girls from kansas susan and juli are awesome its cool once everyone sets their boundrys . anyway being a old timer we stayed up late on the couches last nite dam mosco's ok they left to go eat me and percy went to scotia which has been pretty high pressure of late and he got stuck in a pot hole and when he got out came close to a car wow i didnt need it anyway money in hand i felt really emotional and said lets hit ragabones i want a cup of ice and a jb for my friend of many yrs that has passed he was shook im half tearing up we pull in percy says mon b/b in a hour go watch the cricket i say ok he then sees its on the tele. and says lets stay i order a pound of jerk unweighed shaking hands with my brothers and sisters the whole time even got my r/dragon shirt on .then it happened you wont believe it!! more after i go swimming........ really.
