We stayed at white sands. Parrot is closed temporarily.
You all were hysterical....had a blast!!!!! :)
So we (My friend Mike, a First Timer) get to the airport early in the morning. I had a rental car, as my car has been in the shop getting some work done. They said I could drop it off at the enterprise rental place at the airport. Cool. No problem.
Drop off the car and as we were doing this. USAirways calls to notify us that our flight was going to be delayed by approx 30 minutes, which ended up being well over an hour. No problem.
There was a group about about 15 girls for a bachelorette party on our flight, so we hung with them at the bar. They have never been to Negril, and were staying at RIU. I tried to convince them to go check out some of the things going on off the resort. Not sure they did.
We get on the plane. It was uneventful. The guy I use to drive me around was there waiting for us on time with cold beer. We head out on our way. Hit the Cambio in MoBay on the way out.
As we are headed through Green Island, I call PGW up. He's staying up the beach from us, and we decide Sun Beach would be the best place to meet. So we made those plans for later.
Get to the Hotel. White Sands. For the money, I would say it is a very good value. I would stay there again on a budget for sure.
We get our beach gear on and we are off. My buddy mike is dumbfounded by the brilliance of the beach. We make it up to sun beach and we meet up with PGW. Minutes later and epic thunderstorm with awesome lightening starts. We sit there and catch up as we havent seen each other in person since New Years. We've become pretty good friends since meeting in November. Mike and PGW's friend who will soon be nick named "Uncle Johnny" Hit it off right away. They are both fans of the Subs.
After the storm we hit the beach and decide that we were going to make our way down to Canoe. Well we got held up at Tony's hut for several rounds, so we the guy we use for transportation pick us up and drive us to the webcast.
By the time we get there, most of us are feeling pretty good. My memory is a little fuzzy as to what happened within the next 3-5 hours, but I think we went to 3 dives, then to spyda bar before we decide to head back and get ready for the Jungle.
We meet back up out front of the Jungle and go in. Spend the next few hours partying.
And clearly my internetting is not working out so well.
So the next thing I know. My alarm has been going off for sometime. I had went back to the room and passed out with my clothes on and the AC off. Yes. No AC in August in Jamaica.
Get up and go to the ATM. Grab some Jamaican breakfast and get ready for the day. We make plans to meet up with PGW and Uncle Johnny later in the day to continue our beach crawl.
Fast forward. We meet up with PGW and Uncle Johnny, and head down the beach. Eventually we make it to Sunnyside. Where Uncle Johnny runs into Shadow (Who I did not know prior to this, but PGW did).
Evidently shadow, will follow you around all day if you let him asking for drinks. Well, PGW didnt want any part of this and Uncle Johnny told Shadow, only one beer.
Well Shadow follows us to the history bar. Were the bartender asks if we want another round. We all order our drinks and Shadow is behind Uncle Johnny Screaming at the top of his lungs "RED STRIPE!" and slamming his fist on the bar like a hammer. Uncle Johnny is oblivious to the whole thing. I am watching this whole thing go down and laughing so hard that my throat kind of get sore from it. PGW says "See, I told you". At this point I am about in tears laughing and so is my buddy mike.
So we get up and leave and we are talking about Shadow. Uncle Johnny still oblivious to the whole thing says "Hey he didnt follow us at least eh" PGW says, "Turn around" ...
Shaddow is right behind uncle Johnny. Again, more laughs.
Uncle Johnny finally gets rid of him and we continue down the beach.

So we keep wandering down the beach and hit up all of the usual spots. We eventually get down to bourbon beach.
We get a solid rain storm. I had to be reminded of this later. By this time I was feeling the effects of rum punch all day.
Throw down some chicken and BS for awhile. Then PGW and Uncle Johnny decide to head back their way. Mike and I decide to keep marching.
Hit up a few spots down the beach. Cut through the craft market and on into town. We have a couple beers at American Pie and keep moving.
Get to C and D, because mike wants a little Special cake. He talks me into eating some and we keep walking.
This part is all blurry. I remember the guy who drives us passing by and he offers us a ride back to white sands. We oblige. By this time the cake is in FULL EFFECT. We are sitting in some beach loungers looking at the sky. Next thing I know.. I catch myself sleeping. I look over, mike was too. So I woke him up and we decide to go back to the room for the night...
But that didnt happen just yet.
We see/smell all of the jerk fired up on the road. This being RTI/Dream - there were tons of people and tons of cars and it was crazy. So we grab some jerk as we had the munchies and just take it all in. Then we decide to grab some more Jerk, because we were still hungry.
Finally sometime after midnight we decide to call it a night.

hey buddy, saw somewhere last week that u saw Kevin at BB....any news, is he coming back?
Not me. He's missed for sure though.
So the next day, I am not really feeling so hot. we hang out on our beach for awhile and then link up with the rest of the crew and wander down to bourbon beach. I have a large blister on the bottom of each foot under the part right before my big toe. My ankles are swollen up like balloons and I am hungover. I manage to choke down a couple of beers, but all and all things were not going so well.
We make our way down to bourbon beach and hang out there until right around sunset. All of the sudden - a local female who "Works there" and a local guy who is a "driver" for Bourbon beach get into an argument right were we were sitting. The girl was chatting up someone in our group. Anyway. The discussion got heated. The guy pushed the girl's forehead two fingers very hard a couple of times, while yelling at her. It was broken up, and several regulars and tourists had words for this individual.
That's when we decided to call it a day. Our group goes their separate ways and had tentative plans to make it up to Sea Star for the show. We got back to the room sometime around 8, and I told my buddy that I wasnt going to make it out, but he could go and take my digicel. He decided he would just go grab some best in the west and call it a night as well. I was asleep by 8:30. I slept soundly and deeply until about 7:30 am. I woke up feeling 100%.
I dont have any pictures of this day, because my phone was dead, and we did not bring a camera.
DUDE I feel for your feet. Mine get sooo jacked up when in Negril.
Yeah, tell me about it. Walking 5-6 miles a day in flip flops or bare feet is bad? haha
the cure for anything in Jamaica is SOUP! don't ask me how i know - lol
So here we are on day 4. Up early. We go grab breakfast at Alfreds around 8am. We hang out there for a bit and watch this Rasta who was clearly still up from the night before and may have had a little too much to drink, play in the water. This dude was having the time of his life and yelling "Praise Jah" or something to that effect. He kept falling backward and forward in the water and didnt seem to have all of hit motor skills. He finally ended up just laying there. Half in and Half out of the water.
We decide to walk back to white sands and relax on the beach for a few hours. I spent most of this chill time in the water, as it was HOT out. Around 11 or so, I give PGW a call and he invites up to his villa to chill out for a bit. He is staying at Crystal Waters. This place is AWESOME. Definitely on my list if I can get another couple or a couple of friends or something to come down. The staff there was absolutely awesome. If you buy food. The house keep will cook up to two meals a day for you. The Villas are big an clean. Equipped with a flatscreen and a nice shelf stereo system. PGW has his kid with him (17 yearold) and his buddy. Next to their villa is a family from Kingston. Very nice people and very affluent. Their daughter is about the same age as PGW's son and friend. Without sounding like a creeper. She was a very attractive young woman and the boys definitely did not leave her side for a minute, from what I could see.
PGW offers us a ride to the ATM which was badly needed, by Uncle Johnny and myself. We head to the hilo ATM and get some cash. By this time it is lunch. We decide to take my buddy Mike up to see Xtabi. We had a good meal there and a few rounds of red stripe, then headed up the hill to show mike Rick's Cafe. It was like a sauna there, and he didnt feel like jumping, so we didnt stay long.
Mike wanted to try some Mushroom tea, so we went by Ted's and got him some tea. PGW was in the same sort of funk, I was in the day before. So he dropped uncle Johnny, Mike and myself off at Bourbon beach, so we could pub crawl back.
So we are sitting at bourbon. I am on one side of a corner. Mike is on the other side of the corner and uncle johnny is next to him. We are drinking rum punch and mike is zoned out in mushroom tea land.
These two girls come over and one wants me to "Spend the evening with her". I wasn't into it. As most of you all know and have likely met. I am happily involved in a relationship. Well she didnt seem to want to take know for an answer and I tried to push her off on uncle johnny. Then someone who appeared to be maybe their pimp or something went over to uncle johnny and they got into a debate about something. So we all ended up leaving. Mike was very relieved to have left for obvious reasons.
We end up going to sunny side, tony's and aqua. Then we part ways sometime after dark. Mike and I ended up going to check out a few of the parties that night and had a good time, but only stayed out until like 2. Hanging out all day sucks the life out of you sometimes right?

Great TR so far Flip! It looks like we go to a lot of the same places so seeing your pictures really takes us back. I THOUGHT that is what this board was supposed to be all about. I know you use things like paragraphs, and your spelling isn't perfect, but that's just fine by me. I like reading about things that really happen, told by real people, that post pictures to help set the vibe. I think my favorite part so far is that there is virtually NO narcissism and nobody calls me fat, sweaty, and stupid.

Not looking like a Jamaica trip will be happening again until spring. Some changes are coming back here in PA (for the better) but they will tie up some time and resources for a few months.
Anyway. I forgot to mention. Our debate with the girls and the pimp lead to the nickname "Uncle Johnny". I kept trying to tell the girls that PGW's friend was our Uncle Johnny, and that he was there to party. Eventually they picked up on the fact that he is a Canadian, and we are Americans, and that it was highly unlikely that we were related. I think this escalated the debate we were having. I dont know for sure.
