ya'll know... ;)
Re: What keeps you going?
We first traveled to Negril three years ago because we wanted a beach vacation in the Caribbean. Immediately we fell in love with the Jamaican people, the vibe, the value and the excellent food! Many of our friends, here in the states who have traveled to Jamaica, thought some of the people were rude and pushy. I believe they don't understand the culture and the work ethic of the Jamaican people. Granted there are those who are a turn-off but they are the minority.
The second trip we traveled with our friends. They also fell in love and are returning this year with some of their family members. This Nov will be our 4th reach. Each time we go we experience something new but continue to meet up with old friends.
Re: What keeps you going?
It is the only place we can really relax, its more like home than home is.

Re: What keeps you going?
In a lot of ways, it feels more like HOME in Negril than home does.
Re: What keeps you going?
It just feels right there. Its more calmer and way more relaxed. Its just something, you can't explain to others until they experience it for themselves.
Re: What keeps you going?
I first went because a friend kept bugging me about going. It was July and Hotter than Hell but I fell in love with the atmosphere, people and country - and NO, not with a man - LOL Since then I have been returning twice a year for about a month at a time and always feel so welcome when I arrive.
Re: What keeps you going?
The vibe... like someone else said you cant explain it "You gotta go to know!"
I tripped on Jamaica from a cruise we was there for 4hrs had the best massage on the beach EVER! and that's all she wrote been going back every since minus the cruise...lol
8th reach soon come!
Re: What keeps you going?
the food, meeting new and old friends, the beach, Seastar on sat nites, pub crawl, our resort..ROOMS, doing our own beach pub crawls, the smell of Jamaica when we walk out of mbj airport when we arrive, soon come
Re: What keeps you going?
The music, people, food, beach, the sweet smells of Jamaica and the tree frogs at night
Re: What keeps you going?
I dont anymore...I drive now and have been able to go to some of the most amazing places..Negril is more a 3-4 day stopover: to see friends, enjoy the variety of food available, to be amused at the circus atmosphere on 7 mile beach, to be awed by 7 mile beach on long bay public beach(next door cosmos) no development no higglers,to hang at some great locations on the beautiful, sublime cliffs,to take in a show...After that my feet and soul need to move- theres just so much more to Jam then Negril...
Re: What keeps you going?
we do that too, we will spend 1 nite at the Southcoast, Belmont , Bluefields area, and a day in Sav, but then we are ready to go back to the beach back in Negril, soon come
Re: What keeps you going?
We love Negril. We have been all around the Caribbean but have found for the money our time in Negril is just about the best spot for us. We don't do much when we are there. We love the beach. We love the water. We love our walks. We love that there are no tall, huge buildings on Long Bay. We love walking along 7 mile, there is lots to look at and heading to the area by the public beach that there is nothing. Been to many places but for us for the money, well, we can't go wrong. We like the diversity of having the cliffs. We like the reasonable taxi system. Heck, 17 years ago we were in St Martin and spent $30 each way to dine out. We love that we can go every year, while still being able to do our much more expensive Jersey shore vacation each summer. Not to mention our other travels. We can head out to Negril and spend around $2500 for a week. At that price we can do it every year and still do other trips. Two years ago to Hong Kong, last year to Italy. When you want to be able to do three vacations a year, the price tag, the beach and the great food, Jamaica is our go to place for our time to do nothing but recharge away from our lives. We are planning our 2014 trip and going later than our usual winter break so that we can bring our adult kids. We will be splitting our time with a few days on the cliffs and the rest of our time at Charela. We have stayed at CSA 2Xs, Idle Awhile and Charela. We love Negril.
