Wild Parrot - Highs & Lows ...Please

After years of spending our vacation @ another beach property ..
We feel that it's time to move forward to another ...
If someone can give us the lowdown on the above mentioned ..

Never stayed there but they have a good dirty banana

Atmosphere and staff ultra friendly.

Drinks and food are a good. Maybe a little more expensive than other places. not much.

The rooms are probably 3 Star. I would not say they are rustic, but they are not luxury either. AC is Cold.

We certainly aren't lookin' for the Ritz Carlton ..
Just a clean comfortable place to hang for 10 days
Mi lady just pulled the trigger on the airfare ..
So, it's now up to me to find hotel

We stayed at the Wild Parrot last Christmas season for 11 days. We chose the kitchenette cabin. It had a comfy Queen bed, a small well equipped kitchen with coffee maker, toaster, stove, range, small fridge, and enough plates pots and utensils. If we ever needed anything we just asked. The room has a nice size verandah and A/C for our comfort. For the money, it can't be beat. The staff is all great, the bar is wonderful and comfortable. We are going back for 13 days this coming holiday season.

Now they aren't opening up until November; so, keep that in mind.

My understanding is that the bar/restaurant will be open and running with basically the same staff. Can't wait to see Cindy, Jackie, Richie, Patrice (sp?) in December.

We had a reservation for November but cancelled when they closed this summer and did not have any set future plans. I feared the unknown.

Now I see they plan to open again in November so I hope to visit the bar/restaurant.

that might explain ..why I haven't heard back about room rates ..

As most boardies already know, I LOVE the Wild Parrot. I have stayed 4 times, with another visit booked for Christmas / New Year's.

All rooms are basic, but extremely clean. Staff is great and food and drink is some of the best on the beach IMHO. The beach area has plenty of sun, and some shade with a couple of hammocks.

Suggest you also check out tripadvisor.com, reviews are great and plenty of pictures for you to look at.

best fish tacos around!!

We didn't stay there, but spent an afternoon or 2 hanging out on their beach. As someone else mentioned, the restaurant and bar are a little on the expensive side. I easily spent $100 on lunch and drinks for two of us. That said, the food is great (thumbs-up on the fish tacos!) and the portions were large. Great place to chill.
