As always, the Bar Crawl tour is free, but the driver, Lenbert Williams, does accept tips. To join in on the fun, contact Lenbert at bananaznegril@hotmail.com or call him at 876-874 6631.
Never too early to book :)
Thank you T&A!!!
I just went on Friday and it was SO much fun. We only had a small group, so we didn't get too crazy, but it was really nice to get to know the other folks (a Brit couple and four friends, one a couple, from Toronto). We really loved our first stop, to the home of the justice of the peace (her name is escaping me - Ms. Grace?) - it was really cool to be in a home. She had saltfish and ackee fritters for us with an amazing dipping sauce. It was really awesome to go to some of the 'famed' places on the West End, even though we were staying there, we probably wouldn't have gotten to those places since walking more than a piece down the road was a bit hazardous (but don't get me wrong, we walked a good bit, but the places we went to were much further than we walked!). Enjoy! :) Lenbert is fun. :)
If you're not going until next year, you have plenty of time! The bus can get very crowded, it has been beyond standing-room-only when my wife and I went, she ended up sitting in my lap because there was absolutely no room to squeeze even one more person on the bus. It can get very tight, so if you're claustrophobic or have a problem touching strangers, it might not be for you. It also starts off quietly, but once you've done a few stops and people have had a few drinks it can get loud and boisterous. I've seen people who didn't know what to expect not have a good time because they either didn't realize how crowded the bus would be, how much drinking would be happening, and how crazy some people get when drunk... An older couple on our last visit was visibly upset and didn't last beyond the 3rd or 4th stop...which is when it started to get really fun! This is not a trip for those who don't drink, and can't tolerate being around people who are drinking and having a good time...
You will love it! Lenbert is amazing and a wonderful host! He does a wonderful job of keeping people moving etc. We've done it 2x now - 1st was a small group (7); 2nd was a jam packed bus. Both times were a LOT of fun. I guess it's only as good as the group you have - we're booked for our 3rd in October!
Thank you all for the feedback. This sounds PERFECT for us!! Our motto: We drink alot  And our favorite part of traveling is getting to meet all of our "new best friends".
You should enjoy it. It was a lot of un and the bus when we went was packed..standing room only!
On our bar crawl last November we had 50 people on the bus,I believe Lenbert told us the bus held 30 including standing room, so we had her packed up tight.Hope to do it again this year on Thanksgiving week!!
I think the normal crawl day last year was Weds.which would be the 27th this year which is perfect because we move up to Catcha that day,it's going to be another great time!!
We had a GREAT time on the One Love Bus with Lembert. He's a very business-like person - and he didn't drink while driving us on the tour. We enjoyed it so much the first time - the bus was filled, that we went on the crawl again later in the week. Lembert looked at my camera to see where he had already taken us, and made an effort to go to different places the second time. We stay at Coco La Palm on the beach, and many of the places we went - more on the west end and cliffs - were places we wouldn't have gone to on our own. You'd be safe in booking your "Crawl" day a week or two before you get to Negril. As someone else pointed out - a crawl participant needs to be willing to be around those that drink and those who are over-served.
Lenbert for President! We've been on the One Love bus for 2 trips! What a blast! What Lenbert has done for a positive adventure for all of us visiting paradise, and for the local establishments up on the cliffs. It is a fact, that probably 90% of tourists would have never gone up to the cliffs area on their own. So , yes be sure and check out the one love bus trip and be respectful to evrrybody. We all are one! Ya mon' Irie! We'll see you in December fellow friends & Lenbert! Respect. "Rock and Roll Farmer" & Wife
We are booked for 10/23. Just wondering what would be a good amount of cash to have, and if US or JA is better? Thanks!!
Sherm, all the establishments will accept US funds, but will give change in JA$. So, if you go with US$, use small bills. If I remember right, Red Stripes were about US$3 or US$4 a piece. Wine was a little more than that and mixed drinks higher still. Don't forget to bring a tip for Lenbert.
You will have a lot of fun with Lenbert. We see a lot of places we hadn't been to for years. One Love Bus is not to be missed!
Use $J if you can, I try to use nothing but $J when there, even make sure to go home with some so I have it for the next visit. You'll also save a bit of money using $J than using USD and letting the businesses set the exchange rate.
As far as how much to bring... I'd think about how many you would normally expect to drink, then add enough to have a few more, just in case. I'd also bring a couple bucks for food as well, all that drinking with no food is a bad combination. We also tip Lenbert at least $2000J between the two of us.
I can figure out how much to bring if someone can give the average price of a Stripe on the tour......Thanks
Couple years back I was staying at Co Co,just got there and was at the bar telling folks they should hook up with us on the Bus Crawl we had set for the next day,you will Love it? My wife and I are sitting on the grass by the road the next day waiting for the bus and then they ALL showed up?????? What? Folks were actually listening to me? They all had a great time and like said here prior, many would probably never had gone to the hills.
Expect to pay a bit more for drinks than you are used to, but PLEASE do not let that stop you from going. The trip is free after all, and it really is a blast! (leave a little sumpin for Lenbert of course) We had heard of it many times before we gave it a try and our only regret is NOT going on it sooner. We will consider it a "must do" from now on. Fulljoy!
We're staying on the cliffs and are wondering about what time the crawl ends..and if you can roll right into live music on the beach...
He always seems to pick up around 2:30 and you're done after sunset. We've done it 2x - once in December and again last April. Both times we were back at our hotel around 7:30 or so....
Got it...thanks...we'll have to plan our pace accordingly!
Don't plan anything for after, you'll be crawling!!!
I don't doubt that for a second!!!
I might just be on that crawl, as I will be there on those dates. Always a good time on the crawl.
We were Newbies last year and had an absolute blast!!!! Lenbert is amazing at showing some of what the West End has to offer, please do not hesitate to try this trip. We aren't going until March 2014 but have already put our names down for the Wednesday Crawl. Looking forward to meeting some new people.
If you had to choose between a Friday crawl or Sunday crawl, which would you choose?? (cant do Wednesday) I'm thinking Friday??
I'd do whichever comes 1st, that way if you want to go a 2nd time you can!
So I guess we go Friday and then again Sunday, not really sure my body can handle that on the day before we head back home but what the heck,we will try it!!!
GREAT IDEA!!! Thanks!!Quote:

Lenbert does a great job of going to different bars every time, we've been 2x now and we did No Limit, Seastar and Sir D's both times, the others were all different. Plus it would be a different group of people both times :)
Have fun!
Two newly wed newbies going on the bus crawl on 10/18. Any one else from the Midwest going to be on the bus that day? What can I expect?
