why don't you do your ochi trip at the beginning or end of your trip to negril? makes more sense . . . maybe 2 nights?
i agree with jitters...i would do couple nites before negril-easier and cheaper for transportation to ochi...
well ocho first or Negril first the transportation will cost $$ but think of it as a "tour"
you may want to check out 9-mile while you're on that side
There's nothing wrong with doing it during your trip, it just means the equivalent of one extra round-trip between Negril and Mobay. I find it a wicked thrill to drive PAST the airport without having to turn in :cool:
We cant do it at the start of trip, because we get there on Feb 8 and want to go to a friends wedding in OCHI on Feb 15th. Trying get a cost of the transportation.

With the new road the drive from Negril to Ocho Rios is only about 3 hours depending on MoBay traffic. We always make the trip to visit Donna's mother in Oracabessa, east of Ochi. We leave bright and early and return to Negril dark and late. The last few years we have paid our favorite driver $300US for this trip. He spends the whole day with us and does any other driving we need while there to visit friends and relations. As far as where to stay I am no help. When we have stayed on that side of the island it is always with family.
Cheapest is probably to take knutford express. I think it is about$25 per person each way

Am thinking whats close to there, since you will have to buy a day pas for the wedding wouldn't it be better to just stay there over Night?

Lol Mammee Bay I havent ever heard anyone refer to Ocho RIU as that but I suppose it is a bay. That is Ocho Rios; there are plenty of cheap hotels right downtown a $5 taxi ride. Hotels.com has an awesome rate for that night at RIU $221 all inclusive. Otherwise right downtown by the clock tower and Margaritaville area there are several smaller ones as that is the ship port but they rent at over $120 also and that is not AI. That is a fantastic rate for RIU if I were you I would pick that up.Quote:

Looks like we will go to OCHI with knutford express . Their rates are good ,but when I punch in the dates, we want it shows no seats available . Guess I will have to call them.

Check the K-ford schedule from Mobay to Ochi. If that has seats available you are probably going to be all right. They send a smaller bus to Negril so that might be seat 'shortage'. Then call them and ask if you can get on.
I have did the Negril to Ochi trip twice, using the Knutsford express and will be doing it again in January.
