Another reason in all my travels I never go to Ja in March or April
we always went during spring break...it was the time you could find every place open on the beach.......the kids weren't that bad, we just stayed where they weren't.........more fun to watch 'em..better than TV....
in the 80's it was very-very BIG!.............
But still they don't bring the money as do the older visitors....and many wont open their doors to sp's.....
so who knows??, at least its nice to see crowds on the beach again........
I kinda like seeing the younger crowd on the beach. So many pros and cons. Wonder what others think?
Looks like hype to me. I'll believe it when I see it in March.
Young customers are important to every industry. I hope it happens. there is plenty of room.
a lot of Negril businesses arent to keen on them...others are....but it will never be like the 80's...literally THOUSANDS of kids hit Negril..at first it would just about "gridlock the area"
Mexico and DR are way less money. Kids will go where it's easiest on dad's wallet.
crime rate numbers mean a lot to a careful parent, it would me.
and it has the "lemming effect"...where one college is promoting a certain country, others will jump aboard
It's kind of interesting how the spring break hotspots have changed over the years. When I was in college in the late 80's, Fort Lauderdale, Negril and Mazatlan seemed to be the places to be...then it moved on to South Padre, then Cancun and Arizona, Cabo, etc.
Does anyone go to Fort Lauderdale for spring break anymore?
I think its where STS lobbies for....they do influence the choice of places.....
