Our typical turn around spot for walks on the beach. Was there in May and the place looked super slow. Hope to Lingah a bit when we visit next week. Anyone know if they are ok?

They are serving an excellent Jamaican breakfast! Also had a fish dinner which was to die for! So yes, I can recommend!
Fried snapper is deeelish.... Thanks Reggae Girl
We stay at the NBCC and eat there all the time. Food is wonderful. Low Season is always tougher on smaller places like this but I am sure they will start seeing some more business soon enough. I know we will be going there lots when we hit Negril in January.
Excellent food. Like any place on the beach in slow season... slow. The food is really great, reasonably priced too.
I love that place! The food is excellent; the staff warm and the table coverings are AWESOME! So clever. Unique!
I'm looking forward to their Xmas buffet this year!
Where exactly are they located?
Located on the beach at the Negril Beach Club, Negril Beach Club Condos. Errol's is next door on the town side of the property. They have signs on the beach.
Can't wait. 3 more sleeps and I'll be there. The slow season means me and wifey can Lingah there for some time with no one around. Here's a tip... If you ask nicely, they deliver ....
I was just told that Lingah by the Sea and bar is closed. I'm not too sure if this is just because it's slow or this is permanent until new management takes it over. On previous trips, the decline in business was hard to ignore.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the financial burden changes as the food and service are great plus it has great potential to be an amazing asset to Negril Beach Club.
Sure hope that they have not closed....great little place to eat. Love their lobster salad !!
I totally agree with you Yvonne - for me also, it was the best restaurant that I have experienced at the Beach Club.
I didn't want to speculate on it being a permanent closure but given that they owe a lot of money and management was losing money when it was in operation leads me to believe it's closed until new management takes over.
Just sent a note to Jean Gaynair. She replied that a new person is taking over Lingah on November 1. That is all she said. No names.. what happened. Just someone else is taking it over.
Thanks Claudia. Good news. Yeah Jean!!!
Regardless of what the previous manager of the bar and kitchen did they were always stead when we were there last. I am sure they will make their fair share of profits off of my group and myself when we are down in January. Glad to hear that they will be open.
some really nice places were in that location over the years...........too bad
No clue what stead means (a Canadian term? :-) but profit means making money after paying rent, utilities, for supplies, paying staff, other expenses, etc. It wasn't happening so lots of back rent owed. Very nice people, really great food so a real shame. Too bad your group or others like you/them couldn't be there year round to keep the place out of the red. I hope the new management does well.
Stead is steady with a chubby finger missing the y lol! :)
Was there last Tuesday. Closed. No bueno :( My wife figures they have the best jerk chicken lunch on the whole beach. So sad.
