Come to Zimbali and Experience Gourmet 'Ital' Dining :)
When entering the culture of Rastafari, food is very important. The Rasta style of cooking is known as “Ital”. This word is a take-off of the word “Vital” and sums up how seriously food is taken in the Rasta culture. Rastafarians are by and large vegetarians.
Here at Zimbali gardens, food is of the highest priority. You reconnect with nature as you eat the foods that are naturally in season, cooked on a wood fire. This is life as it has been lived for thousands of years; a life left behind in the wake of progress.

As soon as I can get a new laptop and get my pics loaded...I am going to do a nice trip report on this place. It really is a spritual place!!! And your hosts are amazing people and make you feel that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Many of us go to Jamaica for spiritual uplifting or to recover after bad times. This place takes it much deeper and offers not only a quiet place to reflect, but also kind people that are willing to listen and offer suggestions. I highly advise you to check out this piece of heaven on earth.

Re: Come to Zimbali and Experience Gourmet 'Ital' Dining :)
Can one just visit and have lunch or dinner?? I always love to check new places out. On our next visit, this sounds like a nice day trip to me!
Re: Come to Zimbali and Experience Gourmet 'Ital' Dining :)
Absolutely!!! They love all guests the same, whether you stay there or not. You can take a tour of the farm and basically pick your lunch right off the trees. Mark and Alicia are great people and will make you feel very welcome.

I can say from first hand experience that this place is incredible and your hosts are wonderful people. I did the farm tour and hung out for lunch and dinner. I can't say enough nice things about this place!!! All the food I ate for lunch was picked by the farmer as we did the tour. If you want to de-stress and detox both your mind and body, this is the place!!!
Gerry, to answer your question....it is about a 30min taxi drive from Negril. You go through Sav and then hang a left off the road and go up into the mountains. I promise I will include some pics in my upcoming trip report. Gerry, you would love it there. Extremely chill!!!!!
