Heck with those... Go down west end road and have an ahhhbees burger... Yum, yum, yum.
was in april, and i think it stays open, right beside whistling bird....which is right beside fun holiday....
and i also cast a 2nd vote for the aubee burger...dont usually do much beef in jamaica but best burger ever....
There is a soup stand around there that sells box lunches, if that is what you are referring to. I forget the name of the place. Great food at cheap prices, one of my favorite stops. Always packed with locals getting food, which, to me, is always a great sign.
does he still have dat ahhhbee burger special on Sundays?
Cool Runnings, Marko
You want a good box lunch? Call Linston 376-3652 http://www.redplate-negril.com
He'll take you to where he eats.
Red plate drivers eat on the road all day. It's like the old saying "eat where the truck drivers eat"
it is not across from fun holiday, it is on the same side of the road....i think the name is fishermans or something like that, ...but there will be a sign....directly in front of whistling bird....
What is a box lunch? And a Jamaica one, too? Must be good if you like them, J'Rob! See you in Feb!
True that Cap. Whatever Island I go to I find where the locals eat. Best food and always the cheapest. In Barbados I was in line for a box lunch and the woman gave me half of what she was giving the locals. A local guy gave her crap for it so she topped me up. From what I was told, the box lunch place in front of the Whistling Bird if food made in the Whistling Birds kitchen. Not sure if thats true or not?
i ate there at the one by whistling bird/fun holiday about 3-4 times last reach...a box lunch is basically a local lunch...a couple pieces of chicken and rice and peas for about 300 j....i am not sure, but i think they cook the food right there, they have the big cook pots right in the shop...have several soups.....
Jamaicarob - you might be thinking of Coletta's. Great food there.
