I make sure I bring bug spray / bracelet and a citronella candle for the patio / balcony.
I applied this clothing spray prior to packing in Dec - either it worked great or there were very few bugs on the cliffs. It worked great on the Appalachian Trail last summer too. Didn't affect my clothing at all and supposedly lasts through a few washings.

I always bring a little mini camping lantern, plastic, not glass, to use when walking to Best in the West for dinner. It has a flashing option, which I use for crossing the street. Even if we walk along the beach for a short distance at night, it's good to have to see the ropes! It gets dark early in the winter.

This is great for doing a little laundry on your reach
I need to add to my list the Pedialyte crystals -- thanks for that idea. I bring just about all that has been posted already so the only other item I can suggest is.....solar power string lights for my balcony.
Oh Yeah, I also bring my Sony bluetooth speaker to play tunes in the room or on balcony at night (SiriusXM works in Jamaica if you can get WIFI). And the Pedialyte crystals work best if you remember to drink half a bottle of it with water before you crawl into bed for the night (finishing off the rest in the AM).
i think you are looking for the famous markos list of things to do in negril. although it may be a little outdated these days. good luck!
Always bring strands of Christmas lights to create party atmosphere
